Hulu's mystery comedy series, Only Murders in the Building Season 5, starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, premiered on September 9, 2025. It dropped three episodes simultaneously on the premiere day, and it kicked off with the trio (Charles, Oliver, and Mabel) investigating Lester's (the cheerful Arconia doorman) death. Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger with Lester Coluca's body being found in a fountain of Arconia.

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 began with Charles, Mabel, and Oliver chasing clues after Lester's death, and Nicky's mob-style murder tied the Arconia to a powerful new circle of billionaires. The trio faced several hurdles, but they refused to quit.

Only Murders in the Building, Season 5, Episode 6, "Flatbush," will release on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, on Hulu and Disney+. It will drop in its usual timeslot, ie, 3 AM ET. New episodes are set to release every Tuesday until the season finale, scheduled for release on October 28, 2025.

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 5: A quick recap

Episode 5 of Only Murders in the Building began with Detective Donna meeting the trio in the casino. The trio shows all the proof they have gathered so far; however, they soon realize that the evidence has been tampered with (the Velvet Room's evidence has been cleaned). Donna instructed them to find out people who work for the billionaires and refused to help them further.

Mabel then asked Donna to help them investigate Sofia; however, Charles interrupted and volunteered for the work since he had built a connection with Sofia. Soon, Mabel finds out about Charles's dating app fiasco; however, he assures Oliver and Mabel that he will not let his feelings come between the investigation.

Mabel and Oliver traced the leads through Ursula and Miller, uncovering clues about Tommy the Tongue (an important thing connected with the casino clearups). They found a cryptic message, "Die, Lester Die," carved into a table, sparking questions about the late doorman, but the staff reveals it's actually about the robot.

The Arconia staff staged a revolt over the replacement of human workers with L.E.S.T.R., the robot doorman, whose destruction left them scrambling (although a new one arrives soon). The trio's attempt to extract information about Lester failed, but Miller's portrait of the doorman offered a small victory. Tracking Charles' phone led them to an address tied to Sofia and Lester's widow, Lorraine. Donna also informed Mabel that Tommy the Tongue isn't a person but a company that made a huge sum of money, and when she tells the address from where the money is withdrawn, it matches Sofia's current location. Despite Donna's warnings, the trio enters the house, and there they find Lorraine and Sofia.

As per the synopsis, Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 6 will further investigate Lester's death. With the help of a trip down memory lane, the trio might finally unravel the secrets behind Lester and Nicky's widow, Lorraine. Meanwhile, Mabel and Charles might gain another lead after investigating a break-in.
