The Only Murders in the Building star added that two of the shows that were supposed to happen at Virginia Beach and Richmond would be cancelled.

In Steve Martin's Instagram post, he says,

“Dear Virginia Beach and Richmond. Sadly, I have come down with Covid. I can’t possibly do the shows that you deserve. So Marty and I must cancel tonight & tomorrow. But we will return under better circumstances.😔”

He also added his dog’s photo with a sad expression denoting the sadness of the situation. Though COVID, which ravaged the world from 2020 to 2023, has become a less severe illness now, it should not be taken lightly. Performing in front of a huge crowd in The Dukes of Funnytown! show could have the possibility of spreading the virus even more.

It is a good decision by Steve Martin and Martin Short to cancel the shows and focus on health. Steve Martin’s words also add to the eagerness of the upcoming dates of the comedy show, as he mentions they would be arriving “under better circumstances”.
