Only Murders In The Building team teases fresh twists for Season 5
John Hoffman, in an interview with Televerse, revealed some tidbits from the upcoming season of the show:
“we do something new, we pull from the headlines of New York today. That’ll be a tease, and you’ll have to figure out what that what I mean by that. But very specifically in ways that are very current right now. And also we go back to the theme that’s always started this, the classic-meets-modern and old versus new.”
The trailer of the fifth season is already intriguing. We see the trio begin to investigate yet another mysterious crime scene.

There is undoubtedly going to be a dangerous and intriguing web of mysteries that the trio needs to unravel. Speaking about the upcoming season, Hoffman also added:
“This is very much, what is the power game going on in New York that might be reflective of a little bit of what’s going on in the country, and in our own way, we are sort of pointing out some interesting dynamics about who gets the power and who has the power? Who had the power? Who will get it now? And what does our trio do if they’re smack dab in the middle of that? So I hope you enjoy it. We wink at a lot of things that way throughout the season.”
The show’s trailer has teased a lot about the upcoming mysteries. On top of it, Hoffman’s words added yet another layer of intrigue for us viewers. Only Murders in The Building season 5 is set to release on September 9.

In an interview with Deadline, Martin Short spoke about the show’s huge success:
“I think, certainly, a fifth season in streaming is very unusual these days, but I don’t think any of us thought that way. Steve and I are from the movies also, so we were thinking, “Oh, maybe it’s just going to be one great season.” We were just hoping that it would be interesting. Obviously, you don’t want a show to go up and down, but you’re so invested in where you are right now, it’s hard to get a perspective on it.”
