Giving birth is already one of the hardest things a woman can go through. Now, imagine doing it while being shamed and yelled at instead of being helped. That’s exactly what happened in Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6, and it was one of the most disturbing scenes the show has ever shown us.

This episode of Outlander: Blood of My Blood was dark, painful, and hard to watch, but it gave us important insights into several characters, especially Mistress Porter. Let’s break down what happened in episode 6 and then look at the trailer for episode 7, which shifts focus to Brian and Ellen.

The most disturbing birth scene yet in Outlander: Blood of My Blood

Julia’s birth scene was heartbreaking. She was already trapped in a time not her own, cut off from her husband and family, and now she had to bring a child into the world under humiliating circumstances.

Instead of comforting her, the women who were supposed to help her shouted at her and made her feel ashamed. The entire situation felt like torture, not just for Julia but for viewers as well.

Earlier, Mistress Porter came across as bitter and unnecessarily harsh toward Julia. At first, it was hard to understand why. But episode 6 revealed her reasons.

We saw in flashbacks that Mistress Porter was abused by Simon Fraser. She had no choice, no freedom, and no escape. In her mind, Julia willingly chose to be with Simon, which felt like an insult to her own suffering.

Once Porter understood that Julia’s actions were for the sake of her baby, she softened. As a mother herself, she related to Julia’s desperate decision. This shift was necessary, not only for Julia’s survival but also for the viewers who could hardly bear the cruelty anymore.

Julia has barely seen daylight since arriving in the 18th century. Her journey has been filled with suffering, and episode 6 piled on even more pain.

Fans never expected Julia and Henry’s storyline to be this dark. Many hope that the worst is now over and that Julia and Henry will finally reunite, though it may not happen until the finale of Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Julia gives birth to a boy, but his identity and future remain unclear. Lord Lovat hints at naming him Simon, but that doesn’t match what we already know from Outlander.

Back in the 20th century, Julia and Henry had agreed on names: Claire for a girl and Peter for a boy. So, there’s a chance Julia will name him Peter.

Fans are debating if this child could grow up to be someone we already know, or if he will introduce a completely new thread in the Outlander universe.

Henry’s mental health is clearly fragile. He suffers from PTSD and delusions, which make him believe in things that aren’t real.

In one scene, a memorial looked like it was from World War II, sparking fan theories about Henry traveling to the 20th century. But episode 6 revealed it was only part of his delusion, or perhaps an editing slip.

Episode 7 trailer breakdown of Outlander: Blood of My Blood

Episode 7, Luco Nonuro (“I shine, not burn”), focuses heavily on Ellen McKenzie and Brian Fraser. Their relationship is blossoming but also drawing dangerous attention.

Ellen’s brother Dooall sees her with Brian and reacts violently, hitting Brian. This sets the stage for family drama.

Brian’s closeness to Ellen also causes friction with Murtagh, who has feelings for her. Their confrontation promises to be emotional and heated.

Believing Julia and the baby are dead, Henry considers returning to his own time. He even goes to the stones, but the Grants stop him in Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

We also see Julia holding a letter, raising theories that she may discover Henry is still alive and nearby.

Ellen sneaks into a political meeting, possibly about the upcoming Jacobite rebellion. She wants to learn more, either out of curiosity or because Brian might be there.

Unfortunately, British soldiers raid the meeting, forcing everyone, including Ellen, to flee.

Meanwhile, Simon Fraser continues spreading damaging rumors about Ellen, risking her reputation and her family’s alliances.

Episode 6 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood was painful, but gave us critical insights into Julia, Henry, and Mistress Porter. Episode 7 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood looks like it will shift toward romance, politics, and betrayal, with Brian and Ellen at the center. It promises more drama, secrets, and revelations that will tie into the larger Outlander universe.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6 was haunting and emotional, testing both characters and viewers. With Julia’s suffering, Henry’s struggles, and Mistress Porter’s painful past revealed, the episode left us shaken but more invested than ever. Episode 7 promises love, conflict, and political chaos, everything we expect from an Outlander story.
