Claire’s sibling was born in Starz’s Outlander: Blood of My Blood Episode 6, Birthright, further complicating the series’ already tangled family tree. While the parent series’ penultimate season shocked fans with the reveal that Claire and Jamie’s daughter Faith might still be alive, the prequel introduced yet another twist for our time-traveling heroine.
The pilot revealed that Julia was expecting her second son with Henry when the couple accidentally passed through the stones and found themselves in the 18th century. Many fans suspected whether Claire's sibling would even be born, but the latest episode featured his very intense childbirth. In a recent interview with Decider, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts has teased that the identity of Claire's sibling will turn many heads:
''I want to keep everybody on their toes...where I want to go with it, I think heads might explode…but I’m not going to tell you!”
This cheeky tease was enough for fans to fish out clues for Claire's sibling, but it will be a while before we actually learn his shocking identity in Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood: The curious case of Claire's sibling in Episode 6
Outlander: Blood of My Blood Episode 6 was a haunting hour of television, which saw Claire's mother wailing in pain, partly in labour, and partly because of the dire future of her unborn child. An exhausted Julia was surrounded by midwives and onlookers from the 18th century, who harshly judged her even as she struggled through the intense childbirth of Claire’s unborn sibling.
While Faith's reveal certainly shocked fans to their core in the parent series, the prequel series has introduced yet another mystery that might complicate the Fraser and Beauchamp family tree even further. As things were in Outlander: Blood of My Blood Episode 6, Lord Lovat planned on marrying Julia to make their' unborn child and the prophecized future King of Scotland his legitimate heir. This marriage will not only be a problem for Julia and Henry, but will also technically transform Claire and Jamie's relationship to that of aunt and nephew. Oh, the scandal! This messy overlap in the family tree is inevitable when characters hop back two centuries, like taking a stroll in a park.
However, Claire's sibling was deeply rooted in the prequel's narrative right from its conception, as Roberts revealed to Decider:
“It’s in the pilot. So that plan was in the pitch. So that’s how early that took place. I do have a plan where it’s going.”
Outlander and its chaotic family trees

Seasoned Outlander fans know how much the show's creators love to mess with the different family trees in the universe, and Claire's sibling is certainly not the first shocker. The characters in the parent series time-travel way too much, and in turn, entangle their family histories beyond measure.
In the recent Outlander season, Roger and Buck set out to time-travel to the early 1770s to find Jemmy, when they were accidentally transported to 1739 Scotland, when Brian Fraser was still serving as the Laird of Lallybroch. This adventure not only united Roger with Brianna's grandfather, but he also met his time-traveling father, Jerry, from his time. The Outlander timeline got chaotic in the most exciting way when Roger set out to find his son, but accidentally found his father. Additionally, Buck McKenzie also had a surreal encounter with his parents, Geillis and Dougal, even before they conceived him.
These intricate plot details in the Outlander universe prove that the Fraser and Beauchamp family trees are bound to get chaotic, and this recent tease about Claire's siblings' identity in Outlander: Blood of My Blood will make it even messier.
Fans were certainly excited and shocked to learn about Julia's pregnancy in the Outlander: Blood of My Blood Pilot, as it brimmed with many possibilities about Claire's long-lost sibling. Now that he is officially born, he is certain to play a pivotal role in shaping the family trees of the Outlander universe.
