The world lost a heavy metal legend and singer in Ozzy Osbourne, who was nicknamed "Prince of Darkness" by his fans for his all black attire. The lead vocalist of Black Sabbath died on July 22, 2025, just seventeen days after his Back to the Beginning concert, his farewell show.

The Osbourne family announced this tragic news to his fans in a statement. While no cause of death is confirmed, the singer was reportedly suffering from ill health and was also earlier diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Ozzy Osbourne was a legendary singer who sold over 100 million albums in his career, including his solo hits and Black Sabbath releases.

While Osbourne was already a notable personality in the world of music, he also became a reality television star with the debut of his MTV reality show The Osbournes. The singer appeared with his wife Sharon and their children, Kelly and Jack. Later, he also co-starred with Jack and Kelly on the show Ozzy & Jack's World Detour.

While the Osbournes have featured together in many reality television series, their 2020 show The Osbournes Want to Believe was certainly the most entertaining in the lot.

Created by Ozzy Osbourne's son, Jack Osbourne, who also hosted the paranormal reality television series Portals to Hell from 2019 to 2022, The Osbournes Want to Believe is a reality series. It followed the titular family as they teamed up and discussed various strange things like Bigfoot, poltergeists, UFOs and even aliens.

The show was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and debuted in August 2020. The popularity of the show also paved the way for a sophomore season, which premiered in August 2021.

In 2020, when the whole world was quarantining and was under the influence of the coronavirus, Ozzy Osbourne and his family teamed up for an exciting but spooky adventure, as the family revealed:

“It’s kind of just f*cking boring with this pandemic shit,” remarked Ozzy
“It’s great at first, and then you get on each other’s nerves; then it’s great again...Then the cycle keeps on going around and around.” Ozzy's wife Sharon agreed

What was The Osbournes Want to Believe about?

Since the monotony was driving his family insane, Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack had a brilliant idea to keep his family on their toes. As he revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone, Jack and the other Osbourne children got together at their parents' house once a week and explored the world of the unexplained.

Filmed in the elder Osbournes’ basement with a small crew, Jack and his production team searched for the strangest videos and the Osbourne family hilariously picked them apart.

Each week was another episode of Ozzy Osbourne and his family trying to wrap their heads around spirits, UFOs, a Jesus Christ sighting, a levitating girl, and many more bizarre incidents.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy Osbourne revealed the purpose of the show as:

''It gives us something to do, because we don’t go out much, with everybody getting the virus. So Jack came up with the idea, and I said to him, “I don’t believe in this shit.” So he said, “Trust me. I’ll have you believing.” And it’s true. Some of it is very compelling.''

The Osbournes Want to Believe concluded on October 31, 2021.
