Palm Royale Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Maxine's asylum nightmare and Norma's power play

Palm Royale Season 2 begins with an intense storyline, which sets the stage for the upcoming complications that are about to happen this season. The visuals, along with the authentic performance of the actors, tie the story together in the first episode of Palm Royale Season 2. Maxine is definitely facing a lot of troubles along with the other characters. This episode of Palm Royale perfectly brings in the introduction of yet another interesting season.

Maxine's asylum nightmare and Norma's power play in Palm Royale Season 2 episode 1

The first episode of Palm Royale Season 2 begins with Maxine seeing that she is inside Palm Royale and getting treated in a great manner. She sees that Robert is performing on the stage and she joins him as well. However, it is soon revealed that this is a flashback moment with Robert getting shot and Maxine taken away to the asylum. The episode continues, and Maxine does not realize that she is not at Palm Royale.

On the other hand, Linda is also taken to the asylum even though she desperately tries to tell the truth that she is not involved in the case. Tom wants to put the blame on Linda. He does not listen to the logical opinions that Virginia gives him. Virginia also reveals to Linda her true identity, which completely shocks her.

The scene cuts to Norma watching the dresses, and eventually Dinah comes out wearing a beautiful white wedding dress. It can be understood that Norma thinks that everything is going according to her plan. Dinah also reveals to Normal about declaring her husband, Perry, to be dead. Hence, marrying Axel is not a problem for her now.

Douglas speaks to Maxine, as he is worried about her hallucinations. He tries to make Maxine understand that she is not in Palm Royale; however, Maxine is hardly able to understand that. Linda, seeing that Maxine is in a straitjacket, begins to call her from her cell.

She then informs Maxine that this place is not Palm Royale, which slowly helps Maxine understand her situation. Maxine finally realizes that she is stuck in the straitjacket and begins to work her way out of it. After escaping, she begins to run to see Robert’s situation. She finds Robert unconscious and tries to speak to him.

However, soon, Norma arrives and tells him that if the “terrible” woman had not come between them, none of the things would have happened. She also promises to destroy this woman. Maxine hears this whole conversation while hiding under Robert’s bed. Hearing Norma’s words, Maxine calls Douglas to inform him about it all, but she gets a shot that makes her unconscious.

This episode of Palm Royale Season 2 keeps getting further complicated when Dinah visits and tells Maxine that she is in love with Perry and does not want to marry Axel anymore. She also tells her about Dominique de Marche and how her family made her stay in the asylum for their own benefit, indicating that the same could happen to Maxine.

Maxine gets completely scared hearing Dinah’s words. Back at the party, Dinah gets impatient and wants to tell the truth to Axel. She takes Axel inside the room, but when she enters the room after taking a short break, she finds that Axel is dead.

This episode of Palm Royale Season 2 ends with Norma introducing Mitzi as the new member of her family. Mitzi enters the room wearing a beautiful dress. On the other hand, at the asylum, Maxine keeps on waiting for Douglas to come and take her back, but he does not arrive.

She then comes out of the asylum with Dominique de Marche’s help. She comes out of the asylum and sees Evelyn waiting for her. Dinah appreciates Maxine for her courage and dedication. The episode ends with a thrilling note indicating the upcoming tense situations that are set to happen in Palm Royale Season 2.
