Pamela Anderson is bringing back a forgotten comic book character. With her sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, she has launched And-Her-Sons Productions. The company is going to debut with a television series about Barb Wire, produced with UCP and Dark Horse Entertainment, which is currently under development.

As Deadline reports, the series will follow Barbara Kopetski, also known as Barb Wire, a bounty hunter who operates in Steel Harbor.

Pamela Anderson is bringing back Barb Wire

Pamela Anderson already has a history with the character of Barb Wire. She played the character in the 1996 film Barb Wire, based on the Dark Horse Comics. That movie, which turns 30 next year, gave Anderson one of her most recognizable roles.

This time, Pamela Anderson will not be starring as Barb Wire. As Deadline reports, she might appear in another role, but will surely not appear as the protagonist. The show is reportedly going to have a different tone than the 1996 film.

Chris Warner and Team CGW created the character, and she first appeared in Comics' Greatest World: Steel Harbor in 1993. Nine issues of the original Barb Wire series were published, followed by a four-issue miniseries. Almost two decades later, a reboot was published in 2015, comprising eight issues. Other than the upcoming TV series in development, fans will also be able to revisit her adventures in The Barb Wire Compendium, an upcoming collection of every major comic run of the character, which is set to release in February 2026.

This is a significant milestone for Dark Horse Comics, as it will put them under the spotlight at a time when only the comic books of Marvel and DC get the limelight. Besides, Barb Wire is a great choice for a series because she is a character who is still relatively unknown, which gives producers more freedom to shape her story without clashing with years of expectations from the audience.

Pamela Anderson and her son Brandon Thomas Lee are executive producers under And-Her-Sons Productions. Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg are also executive producers for the series. For Anderson, the project is both a return and a reinvention. It has been nearly 30 years since she played the character of Barb Wire, and now she will be part of the crew that will bring the character to life for a new generation.

Pamela Anderson is a celebrated actress, widely popular for her roles in Scary Movie 3, Baywatch, and Blonde and Blonder, among other projects. She has most recently starred as Shelly Gardner in The Last Showgirl (2024), as Beth Davenport in The Naked Gun (2025), and as herself in Pamela's Cooking with Love (2025). Next, she is going to appear in Rosebush Pruning and Place to Be.
