Apple TV has a brand-new detective thriller series, Parallax, set to join its exceptional roster. Based on Lars Kepler's internationally bestselling crime novels, the 10-episode thriller is set to star Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz alongside Stephen Graham.
Schreiber is set to play Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier-turned homicide detective who moves to the quiet streets of Western Pennsylvania for some peace after his time working in the streets of Philadelphia. However, his hopes of peace and quiet are thrown down the drain when his family and his town find themselves under attack from a serial killer, Jurek Walter, played by Graham.

Apple TV set to adapt bestselling author Lars Kepler's crime novels into detective thriller Parallax
Lars Kepler's bestselling novel series featuring Detective Joonah Linna, especially the first novel titled The Hypnotist, is set to be adapted into a 10-episode detective thriller titled Parallax.
Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier now a homicide detective, moved to a small town in Western Pennsylvania in an attempt to escape the rough and rowdy life of a criminal detective in Philadelphia. But the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter attacks Jonah's family and his town. These events force Jonah to rely on his adopted daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Zazie Beetz, to go against Jurek.
Apple TV's official description for the show reads:
"Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who, tired of working the tough streets of Philadelphia, moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania for a quiet life. But, as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham), Jonah must protect all that he holds dear. When the desperate search for Jurekâs last missing victim forces Jonah to send his adopted daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz), up against Jurek, how far will Jonah go?"
BAFTA award winner Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin are the writers, executive producers, and showrunners for the Apple TV show. Apart from starring in Parallax, Schreiber and Beetz also join the project as executive producers. Beetz joins under the banner of her Sleepy Poppy production company. Joffe, Hlavin, and Tim Van Patten are set to direct the first two episodes.
Author Lars Kepler (pen name for Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril) and Tim Van Patten will also be joining as executive producers for Apple TV's Parallax. They will be joined by David Rysdahl, Ăystein Karlsen, Niclas Salomonsson, and Dorothy Fortenberry as executive producers. Apple TV is producing this detective thriller with A+E Studios and Range Studios.
It was previously revealed that filming for Apple TV's Parallax was set to begin in the summer of 2025, and recent reports suggest that production wrapped up in late 2025. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this, so we'll have to wait for official updates from Apple TV.
