Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2 recap: Chris deals with his doppelgänger and Eagly gives a tough fight

Peacemaker Season 2 has started airing and this time, the show has introduced some major shifts. Important characters like Chris, Adebayo, Harcourt, and others, are no longer working together and each of them are on their own path.

Created by James Gunn, the superhero series is based on the characters from DC Comics and while the first season was a spinoff of the movie, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker Season 2 takes place after the events of the movie, Superman. John Cena plays Chris Smith/Peacemaker and focuses on themes like alternate universes.

Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2 is out now and the episode not only brings back the characters together for the first time this season, but it also sheds light on Eagly. Further, Chris has to contend with his doppelgänger and Rick Flag is seething with revenge. Here’s a quick recap of Episode 2.

Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2 recap

The first episode of the season focused on Chris fighting with his doppelgänger and Episode 2 focuses on Chris trying to hide the fact that the other Chris has died. He goes to the Quantum Unfolding Storage Unit and Adrian comes to the rescue. Both of them dispose of the doppelgänger’s body and Chris keeps a hold of his doppelgänger’s phone.

In the phone, Chris finds images of his alternate self in a relationship with Harcourt and he goes to the universe to drunk text her from the other Chris’ phone. On the other hand, Auggie and Keith try to find the doppelgänger. Chris also tells Adebayo about the Quantum Unfolding Storage Unit and its connection to the 99 different universes. She tells Chris to tell all of this to ARGUS but he doesn’t listen and uses the portal.

While Adrian and Chris have become close friends in Peacemaker Season 2, Adebayo is separated from her wife, Keeya and is depressed as Keeya will not take her back. Harcourt is also unable to get a job and Economos works for ARGUS but he tells Adebayo that he hates his job. Episode 2 also introduces a new character called Fleury, who makes rude comments and makes Economos uncomfortable.

However, while all of them are dissatisfied, they reunite for a party in honor of Economos’ homecoming and Adebayo and Economos talk about Chris and Harcourt’s relationship. However, Chris and Harcourt get into an argument and the party scene brings back the banter of the characters that was an iconic part of Season 1.

Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2 also talks about ARGUS

In Episode 2, the rivalry between Chris and Flag is also revealed as Flag is the ARGUS director and now has access to files about his son’s death in The Suicide Squad. Therefore, he wants to keep a close eye on Chris. Adebayo also warns Chris that ARGUS is watching him and Flag is looking for ways to get Chris locked up.

Fleury joins Bordeaux to enter Chris’ house without telling Economos. However, when they go inside, they meet an annoyed Eagly who fights with the entire team of operatives and sends them to the hospital. Fleury is severely injured and Eagly’s scene with the ARGUS people is an amusing watch.
