Peacemaker season two is set to be released on 21st August 2025, and more and more details are being revealed as we get closer to the day. The DCU has been making quite some changes in the way it portrays its superheroes. It started with Peacemaker season one, where, despite having a serious plot, we were given enjoyable chunks of humorous scenes. Similarly, DCU has also given us a more lighthearted Superman in Superman (2025).

One hilarious tradition the first season of Peacemaker had set was the addition of a gag post-credit scene at the end of every episode. As Home of DCU (@homeofdcu) revealed on X, the second season will continue the tradition as well.

Peacemaker season two will have gag post-credit scenes as well

Post-credit scenes at the end of superhero movies have been quite common since it was first used by Marvel in Iron Man (2008). In films, these post-credit scenes are usually added to tease a future film or project. That has been the tradition for most superhero films and shows since 2008. But in Peacemaker season one, the post-credits scenes were a little different.

For each of the eight episodes of season one, there was a gag post-credit scene, which offered comedic relief rather than a tease for the next episode. They were either extended bits of the episode itself or just short clips that were not connected to the episode, adding additional laughs. The post-credit scenes weren't too long, all having a duration of less than one minute.

Since they were not necessarily related to the episode's main plot, it wasn't a big deal if one missed them. According to Home of DCU (@homeofdcu) on X, the second season of Peacemaker will also have a gag post-credit scene at the end of all eight episodes.

The second season will be released on HBO Max on 21st August. Only the first episode will be released on 21st July, with the rest of the seven episodes being released weekly on Thursdays until the finale on 9th October 2025. Season two's logline, according to Warner Bros. Discovery, states,

"In season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands."

Season two will star John Cena as Chris Smith aka Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase or Vigilante, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Robert Patrick as August Smith aka White Dragon.

The second season also welcomes some new cast members, including Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, Sol Rodriguez as Sasha Bordeaux, and Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury. David Denman is also part of the new cast, but his role hasn't been revealed yet.

Peacemaker season two arrives on HBO Max on 21st August 2025 at 9 pm ET/PT. Season one is available for streaming on HBO Max.
