Peacemaker Season 2 star Joel Kinnaman to lead Prime Video's new series Bishop

Prime Video has greenlit a brand-new thriller from Little Marvin titled Bishop. Little Marvin comes together with Tony Salzman as co-creator and executive producer for the crime drama. The thriller is a part of Little Marvin's overall deal with Prime Video, and it has a truly interesting premise.

The official update also reveals that the Peacemaker Season 2 star Joel Kinnaman is headlining the project as the titular Detective Bishop Graves. Kinnaman, who plays Rick Flag Jr. on the DC show, is set to play a homicide detective who is tasked with hunting down and bringing to justice a serial killer who is following the 'eat the rich' motto a little too well and targeting the moneyed class of San Francisco.

Prime Video greenlights thriller drama Bishop starring Joel Kinnaman

Bishop is an original thriller drama from showrunner Little Marvin and co-creator Tony Salzman, as part of Little Marvin's deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The show was picked up for a series order a few months back, and since then, casting rumors have been afloat. According to reports from Deadline, there is finally a confirmed casting update for the Prime Video thriller drama.

The show's titular character, Detective Bishop Graves, is set to be played by Joel Kinnaman (Peacemaker, For All of Mankind). Kinnaman's character, Detective Graves, has been tasked with finding and bringing to justice a serial killer who is hunting down San Francisco's wealthy. The killer's elusiveness and audacity seem to know no bounds, especially because they are out of reach for Graves, and at the same time, they find a devoted following in the powerless of the city.

As Graves finds himself entrenched deep into the mystery and thrill of hunting this serial killer, he finds himself more than convinced that his father, Lincoln Graves, one of the most powerful men in San Francisco, is somehow linked to the serial killer and the murders. The brilliant and battle-scarred detective will be forced to question everything he knows about himself in the hunt for this serial killer in Bishop.

Kinnaman has a lot of projects on the horizon recently, as, along with appearing on Peacemaker as Rick Flag Jr., he is also headlining the Apple TV+ show For All Mankind, which is set to premiere with a fifth season very soon. He is also set to appear opposite Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale) and Kerry Washington for another Apple TV+ project, titled Imperfect Women.

According to rumors surrounding the thriller drama, there were talks with an A-list actor to be cast as Lincoln Graves; however, the deal fell through, and later the announcement was made with Kinnaman as the only confirmed casting.
