One of the exciting characters in Peacemaker Season 2 is Sasha Bordeaux, as played by actress Sol Rodriguez. For those who don't know, Sasha in the comics has links to one of DC's flagship heroes, Batman. While the DCU Batman project, The Brave and the Bold, remains in the scripting stage, her inclusion in the project is important because her appearance might set up Batman.
As the acclaimed and beloved HBO Max show gets ready for its release, the marketing campaign for the series is in full swing. At the red carpet premiere of Peacemaker's second season, Rodriguez was explicitly asked about Sasha Bordeaux's connection to the DCU's version of The Dark Knight. To this question, the actress responded with ignorance.
What did Peacemaker Season 2's Sol Rodriguez say about Sasha's connection to the DCU Batman?
At the red carpet premiere of Peacemaker season 2, Liam Crowley, who is a reporter at ScreenRant, asked the Sasha Bordeaux actress about the implication of her character's appearance in the HBO Max series. This exchange between Crowley and Sol Rodriguez went with the ScreenRant reporter asking:
"Sol, your character of Sasha Bordeaux, I’m sure you know all about her comic history. When she was introduced in the comics, it was as the head of Bruce Wayne’s personal security, and it didn’t take her long to figure out that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Does your character, your interpretation here, have the same history going into Peacemaker season 2?"
The actress's response to this question was:
"Oh my God. So I never spoke about that with James, but I would like to think that she knows, and that’s part of her recent past, but I never really discussed it with James. I hope that, crossing my fingers, in the future, he writes something about that and I can bring that to life with Batman. I would love that. It would be such a dream. That’d be really cool, but I read all about it online and as much as I could, and I love that. So bada**."
Introduced in the comics in 2000, Sasha's time with Batman was short-lived but impactful. We meet her first as a former Secret Service agent who is hired by Lucius Fox as a bodyguard for Bruce Wayne, who tries to avoid her. However, Sasha grows suspicious of Bruce's constant late-night disappearances and figures out his secret.
When that happens, Batman trains her, and she even joins him in the field. However, nowadays, she is mostly linked to Task Force X's other division, Checkmate. In the image above, we can see that she is sharing the screen with Langston Fleury, an A.R.G.U.S. agent, played by Tim Meadows. Given that Sasha was a former agent, some wonder if she will go on to work for Bruce Wayne in the future.
Sol Rodriguez is not the only one who spoke about Sasha's role in Peacemaker Season 2.
James Gunn teases Sasha Bordeaux's role in the second season of Peacemaker
After hearing Sol Rodriguez's answer, DC Studios Co-CEO and Peacemaker Season 2 showrunner James Gunn pitched in his thoughts on Sasha's probable connection to The Dark Knight. When Gunn was asked if Bordeaux would go on to work for the DCU Bruce Wayne, the DC Studios co-CEO responded:
"I think we’ll, we’ll have to see where it goes. I mean, I think we’ll have to see with what we’re doing with Batman and figuring it out. So obviously we know some basics about where it’s going with Batman, but we’re also figuring some things out. So everything’s fluid."
The first episode of Peacemaker Season 2 will stream on August 21, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET on HBO Max.
