Percy Jackson, a demigod, remains at the center of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but the other core cast members add significantly to Rick Riordan’s much-celebrated saga. Percy is the son of Poseidon and survives school, thereafter surviving challenges tied to Olympus.

When asked about his intention to get behind directorial steering for the show someday, Jackson mentioned that he wants Season 5 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians to be divided into two parts:

"I want them to split season 5 into two parts, but I think by season 4 or 5, if we could be in the writers' room or be producers, I think that would be awesome."

Aryan Simhadri wants to have an additional role in making the series by Season 5 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians debuted in 2023, swiftly becoming one of Disney+’s strongest titles. The new season focuses on a new generation who take on risky sea-faring adventures surrounded by gods, monsters, and modern-day quests.

As Percy tries to survive in this fantastical world, Grover Underwood becomes Percy’s loyal satyr companion, played by Aryan Simhadri. He is of a pleasant, humorous nature with characteristic, steady loyalty.

Grover became a fan favorite, and Simhadri’s performance has been praised for bringing warmth to the role. Simhadri is already hinting about what the future might look like behind the camera.

The character of Percy is played by actor Walker Scobell, and Simhadri mentioned that the two often speak about getting into the creative side. The young actor and a trusted friend of Percy on screen mentioned that both of them would like to take up some directorial activity if allowed into the writer's room.

He mentioned that they'd like Season 5 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians to be split into two parts. His goal is clear: by Season 5, he wants to take on a larger role in shaping Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The young actor explained that he and Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, often talk about how exciting it would be to help build the story:

“That would be such a nightmare (laughs). I think it'd be awesome, though. Walker and I, we always ask. Every season. They're like, ‘Oh, maybe next season.’ But I think it's a realistic thing by season 4 or maybe season 5 especially."

All the celebrated franchises dealing with a fantastical story, like the Harry Potter film series or the Stranger Things Netflix series, actors grow gradually with the characters.

In future seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the story can become more complex. Simhadri’s wish to step into a producer or writer’s room role shows a desire to contribute to the series beyond acting.

"We just have so many ideas that we want to pitch. Sometimes we want to see the story go in a certain direction or see certain additions or see stuff. We have so many ideas and the writers' team is always listening to us, but I feel like we'd love to be a part of that process. That'd be rad.”

Percy Jackson and the Olympians reaches its finale on January 21, 2026, bringing to life the epic story told in The Sea of Monsters. You can stream the show on Disney+
