With Pluribus episode 4 comes some new details and a new individual named Manousos Oviedo, played by Carlos-Manuel Vesga. Up until this point, we had the information about thirteen individuals who aren't connected with the rest of the hive mind. Manousos is one of them, but his face wasn't revealed until the fourth episode.
Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) is the major protagonist in the show and the only one who hates what has transpired on this earth. There's a lot of happiness on the planet right now in this TV show, thanks to the Joining that brought every single individual on the earth together.
Now, all the people of the world have become one in mind, except for these thirteen, who include Carol and Manousos. Though initially, their interaction didn't go well, but then the latter one knows that there is another individual with free will, and she doesn't like the current situation on the planet, just like him.
With Manousos comes a new hope for Carol in Pluribus episode 4

The latest episode in Pluribus brings a new hope for Carol. There are a couple of things. She knows about one but not about the second.
It is about her rebellion toward the hive mind. She wants all of this to go away so that everything on the earth becomes normal again. Right now, there are no people with free will other than the ones who were unaffected by the 'Happiness virus.'
In Pluribus episode 4, she invites one of the people affected by the hive mind to her house because she wanted to ask how people liked her book series, The Winds of Wycaro. This conversation takes an unexpected turn for the 'hive people' when she asks what her now-dead partner Helen (Miriam Shor) thought about the book.
Now this puts the 'hive person' in a dilemma because they are not designed to hurt people, but what Helen thought of it would likely hurt Carol. So, after talking round and round, they tell her that Helen found it just "fine." With that answer, she realizes that these guys cannot lie to her.
So, she had an idea, and at the end of Pluribus episode 4, she goes to Zosia (Karolina Wydra), who was almost killed in the last episode, and tries to drug her so she can pull the truth out of her. However, this is an unsuccessful attempt because Carol again almost killed Zosia with this stunt.
Another thing that happened in Pluribus episode 4 was that Manousos was likely looking for at least one person who was against the hive mind. So, when Carol called her and both exchanged some colorful words in a heated conversation, he realized that she was unaffected.
So, he notes down her name in the notebook. This also means that at some point in the future, these characters are likely to cross paths with each other and maybe do something together about the current situation on the earth.
Pluribus episode 4 is now streaming on Apple TV.
