Apple TV suffers problems with the server after the Pluribus release

Pluribus Season 1, starring the Better Call Saul actor Rhea Seehorn, premiered with its first two episodes to a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a malfunctioning Apple TV server. The show features a fairly simple logline and an equally unprecedented plotline led by Rhea Seehorn's Carol, as explained by Gilligan:
"The drama of the show is that the world’s most miserable person is desperately trying to save the planet from happiness. She doesn’t want to be tasked with saving the world, but she feels it’s her duty"
Shortly after its premiere, around 10:30 PM ET, users across the United States and Canada started noticing that their Apple TV seemed to be down. Thousands of reports flooded X and Reddit, with users joking that the Vince Gilligan series broke down Apple TV. The Downdetector reports rose to more than 13000 before the streamer acknowledged the outage on its servers. The streamer responded to inform that the outage was being investigated and dealt with at the latest.
Considering the major marketing push for Pluribus from Vince Gilligan, it was an important release for the streamer. So, the breakdown of its servers came at an unfortunate time for the technology giant. Users also reported problems with other Apple services, such as Apple Music and Apple Arcade.
The outage was especially inconvenient considering the rave early reviews that the sci-fi thriller from Vince Gilligan seemed to be receiving from critics, setting it up as a major win for the network against its competitors, Netflix, Prime Video, and Hulu. The streamer promised a restoration of full functionality in their acknowledgement of the issues.
Nevertheless, Pluribus continues to receive overwhelmingly positive reviews from viewers and critics. A review from IndieWire refers to it as:
"The premiere builds to an extended parody of sorts, both haunting and hysterical at once, and its black yet bubbly sense of humor only spreads from there. It often winks without winking, letting a joke sit just beneath the surface, waiting to be picked up, and it treats its dramatic layers with similar nonchalance."
The Apple TV outage has now been resolved, and users have been taking to their streaming services to finally enjoy the two-episode premiere of the Vince Gilligan show. Hopefully, the outage doesn't affect the show's viewership, and it manages to gain the momentum it deserves by the next episode's release on November 14.
