Ross's world falls apart and Enys's race to find happiness in Poldark Season 2 episode 10

The tenth episode of Poldark Season 2 begins with Ross and Demelza’s marital struggles. Demelza is very much impacted by Ross’s past decisions. It can be understood that his closeness with Elizabeth has undoubtedly cast a shadow of complication on his relationship with Demelza. He tries to win over Demelza by giving her money; however, Demelza is not affected by any of it.

On the other hand, Elizabeth’s marriage to George is also creating quite a lot of complications for her. George tries to fix the issue of Francis’s estate related to a previous transaction with Ross. However, when Ross arrives and says that the transaction was completely legal, George does not accept it. Rather, George insults Ross, which leads the two of them to throw hands at one another.

Ross returns home with injuries after his scuffle with George and sees that Enys is at their home. Enys informed Demelza that he will be leaving for the army now that his relationship with Caroline has no future. Enys enlists himself in the army, knowing that he might never return alive.

Later, Ross arrives and asks Demelza if she is angry with him because of the scuffle he had with George. However, Demelza does not give Ross any comforting answer, which further instigates Ross. Ross reveals that Enys’s decision to join the army also makes him wonder if he should join as well.

Hearing his words, Demelza says that he should also run away and that it was not the first time that he left Demelza and her son behind. Their relationship definitely is not progressing in a positive direction in this episode of Poldark Season 2. Later, Ross finds out that his mystery benefactor is not a man but a woman, Caroline. He reaches Caroline’s place to thank her for her generosity.

He then wittily pushes Caroline to think before marrying someone else. He informs her that Enys is all set to leave for the Navy, which leaves her thinking. Later in the episode, we see Enys visiting a place where he is congratulated for joining the Navy by a man. He sits down to eat when Ross arrives and surprises him by bringing in Caroline.

Though Caroline and Enys reconcile and spend their remaining hours before Enys leaves for his posting in bliss, it is not the same for Ross and Demelza. At the end of the episode in Poldark Season 2, Demelza decides to leave Ross with her son and go to her father’s house.

He is adamant about not becoming Ross’s second choice. She knows that Ross is still in love with Elizabeth. Though Ross tries to persuade her with flattering words, Demelza does not listen.

At the end of Poldark Season 2, episode 10, Elizabeth is devastated. George informs her that he will be sending her son away. Elizabeth tries to reason with him, saying that he will miss his home.

George does not listen, and he indicates that she will need to focus on the children she will have with George. Her worries are not just limited to this because Elizabeth’s Aunt Agatha informs her that there is a possibility that the child she is carrying might actually be Ross’s and not George’s.
