If things go the way Eric Kripke hopes they do, The Boys franchise is set to expand even more after the Gen V Season 2 finale. The finale finds Marie and the gang on the run from Vought after killing Thomas Godolkin, who was "culling the herd," eliminating supes he thought had stupid and useless powers.

Just as Marie, Cate, Jordan, Annabeth, and Sam find themselves on the run, the lights around them start flickering, signaling Starlight's entry. Starlight is joined by A-Train, and the two of them convince (not that it took much convincing) Marie and her gang to join the resistance against Homelander, setting up the events for The Boys Season 5.

Kripke has also revealed new updates on some of the other spin-offs on the horizon for The Boys universe.

The Boys: Mexico

Kripke revealed that The Boys universe is still set to expand with The Boys: Mexico, which is currently in development. He added that Gareth Dunnet-Alococer, the showrunner for the spin-off, is currently writing the script, and it has yet to get through the bumpy development phase.

"It is still in the works. Gareth [Dunnet-Alcocer], who’s an amazing writer, is writing drafts right now. It’s in development. I think it’s hilarious. But we’ll see, it’s going through the bumpy rapids of development. It would take place at some point after Season 5 of 'The Boys'. "

Kripke went on to add that the series would hopefully be set a few months after the events of The Boys Season 5. Some characters might even cross over into the spin-off, but that is all just speculation at this point.

Vought Rising

Vought Rising is another spin-off of The Boys, but this one is much further along than The Boys: Mexico and is already in the filming phase. While Kripke didn't reveal much information about the spin-off or its release date, he did talk about a character from Godolkin University that he would've liked to see in the series. The character might even appear in a second season if everything goes as planned.

"If there’s a Season 2 of ‘Vought Rising,’ we would definitely have him in as Godolkin. I’m so fascinated by that character, and to bring him in beside Frederick Vought, and seeing those two monsters work together, would be a blast."

The character Kripke referred to is Ethan Slater's Thomas Godolkin. Since Vought Rising is a prequel to The Boys, set in the 1960s and focusing on Soldier Boy and Stormfront, Kripke revealed it would have been interesting to witness Slater's Godolkin. Seeing him alongside Frederick Vought would have been a fascinating dynamic.

The Boys

Finally, Kripke also revealed some interesting updates on The Boys Season 5. It was previously revealed that Season 5 would pick up roughly six months after the events of Gen V Season 2. Kripke now reveals exactly where the final season will pick up in terms of the resistance reveal at the end of Gen V Season 2:

"You’ll get a sense of this resistance that really kicks off at the end of ‘Gen V’ — how it’s been going — when you pick up ‘The Boys’ Season 5. And the spoiler is: Not well,"

The next anticipated release from the universe after Gen V Season 2 is The Boys Season 5, but no release date has been confirmed as of now.
