Daredevil: Born Again, a revival and continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, has made Marvel history with the Season 3 renewal. Season 1 of the Charlie Cox starrer premiered on Disney+ in March 2025 and was soon renewed for another season featuring the return of Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk.

Fans were expecting Murdock's story to be wrapped up by Marvel in the second season. It turns out, however, that the Man Without Fear's story will take more than just the two seasons.

Daredevil: Born Again wrapped up its first season in April and soon jumped into production for the second season. The first season ended with Fisk outlawing vigilantism and even creating an anti-vigilante task force. Charlie Cox's lawyer and vigilante Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, ends up on a collision course with Fisk as he gathers allies to take back New York.

Fans have been anxious regarding updates about the show after Cox's comments referring to the second season as the final season. Turns out, however, the worries were for naught, as Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for a third season by Marvel, even before the second season premieres.

The reveal comes from Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios:

"In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year"

A third-season renewal for Daredevil: Born Again makes it the only Marvel show under the current Marvel Studios to return for a third season. Marvel is known for only creating limited series, with famous shows such as Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Eyes of Wakanda, and Moon Knight.

No other show has been renewed for a third season, with the exception of What If...?, an animated show with a series of standalone episodes that reimagine events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What If...? also concluded after its three-season run in 2024, marking the end of the animated series.

Coming back to Daredevil: Born Again, details about the plot for the second season and now the third season are being kept under wraps. However, we do know that the second season is going to feature the return of a lot of iconic Marvel heroes as Daredevil looks for allies against Fisk. From Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones to Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is set to be a hell of a ride.

While there is no confirmed release date for the second season, according to reports and an Instagram reveal from the showrunner, a March 2026 release is being planned. This would mean that the second season is scheduled to premiere exactly a year after the first season, bypassing the common trend of an extended gap between seasons.

Additionally, Vincent D'Onofrio also confirmed through his official X that Season 2 was in fact already complete, so a quicker release can be anticipated.

If there's any show that deserves the special position of a season three renewal from Marvel Studios, it's none other than this one, and who knows, maybe it will also be the only show to return for a fourth season under Marvel Studios.
