Power: Origins has started filming. Now that production has begun, the show has added six new actors.

The new cast members are Jennifer Ferrin, Lizzy DeClement, Lenny Platt, Armani Gabriel, Everett Osborne, and Jason Dirden. Jason Dirden is coming back to play Traymont Stinson again.

Their addition is a big step for the show. Power: Origins will explore the early lives of Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan.

Who are the six new cast members in Power: Origins?

The newest casting update for Power: Origins brings six actors into repeat roles. Each character adds something new to the story. They help build the relationships, the problems, and the world where young Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan live.

Here is a look at the new cast members and their characters:

Jennifer Ferrin plays Kate Egan

Kate is Tommy’s mom. The official description of Power: Origins says she is very dramatic, likes attention, and can be controlling. She struggles with addiction and often wants her next fix. Even with her problems, Tommy loves her a lot. He takes care of her and tries to help her stay clean.

Lizzy DeClement plays Jill Wexler

Jill is a nurse at a hospital in Queens. She is smart, driven, and speaks her mind. She is also a recovering addict and has faced a lot of pain in her young life. Jill becomes romantically involved with Tommy. She loves him, but she also tells him the truth when he does something wrong.

Lenny Platt plays Lenny Seidell

Lenny is a confident and charming “finance bro” who later becomes a fitness businessman in Power: Origins. He owns several successful gyms in New York City. He wants to grow his fitness brand even more. But his business has a dark side. He gives steroids to his top gym clients and is always looking for new people to join his risky plans.

Armani Gabriel plays J-Boogs

J-Boogs is sharp, street smart, and tough. He works as a trusted “corner boy.” He is one of Ghost and Tommy’s most reliable helpers on the streets. In their rough world, Ghost and Tommy know they can depend on him.

Everett Osborne plays Omay Moreau

Omay is a superstar football player in Power: Origins. He is a tight end for the New York Jets. On the outside, he looks kind and loyal to his close friends. He brings them into a world of big parties, money, women, and fast cars. But under all the fancy things, there may be hidden problems. His story might include drama or betrayal.

Jason Dirden plays Traymont Stinson again

Traymont Stinson was already in the earlier show, Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He used to be a trusted helper to the Thomas family, but he later betrayed them. In Power: Origins, he comes back. His return will likely bring old loyalties, old problems, and new conflicts.

These new cast members join the main leads of Power: Origins, already announced: Spence Moore II as young Ghost, Charlie Mann as young Tommy, and MeKai Curtis returning as Kanan Stark.

What we know so far about Power: Origins?

Starz has ordered 18 episodes for the first season of Origins. This is much longer than the other Power spin-offs. Lionsgate Television is producing the series. Sascha Penn is the showrunner. He also wrote the pilot with Courtney A. Kemp, the original creator of Power.

The executive producers are Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson from G-Unit Film & Television, Mark Canton, Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, and Pete Chatmon. Pete Chatmon will also direct.

This strong team shows that Starz is putting a lot into Origins. It is not just another spinoff. It is a big new chapter in the Power universe.

Power: Origins will show the early years of Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan. This happens before the events of the original series. The show will follow their young lives as they try to make their mark on the streets of New York City.

For fans, the show will answer many old questions. How did Ghost and Tommy begin? What shaped them when they were young? Who guided or influenced them? The show is described as a fun and wild look at a new time period in the Power world.

MeKai Curtis returns as Kanan Stark. Kanan is a key part of the Power story. His return helps connect the older storylines to this new prequel.

Filming for Origins has officially begun. It is being filmed in New Jersey. This started in late 2025. The show has a big cast. It also has a long first season and experienced producers leading it.

Power: Origins is the fourth spinoff and the fifth show in the whole franchise. The earlier shows are:

Power (2014–2020)

Power Book II: Ghost

Power Book III: Raising Kanan

Power Book IV: Force

Unlike the other spinoffs, which usually follow one main character, Origins will follow more than one. It will focus on both Ghost and Tommy. The show will explore the tough streets of New York City, their early hustles, their betrayals, and how they built who they became.
