In the final season of the show, the police are after the girls for the murder of Elliott Rollins or Archer Dunhill. Elliott’s murder happened because Hanna mowed him down with her car after being kidnapped by AD. Dunhill had married Alison under false pretense while being in love with Charlotte.

Dunhill also convinced Alison that she was mentally unstable and got her into a mental health institution. Further, Alison got forcible impregnated with Emily’s stolen eggs. Therefore, Hanna killed Dunhill. However, the police is after the girls and so is AD.

Mary Drake saves the girls from jail by confessing to the murders of Dunhill and Jessica. Charlotte’s murderer was also revealed and the killer was Mona Vanderwaal. Mona threatened Charlotte not to begin the “A” game again and after a struggle Mona pushed Charlotte into a wall, which killed her.
