Kevin, the upcoming adult animated series Prime Video series created by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, has finalised its voice cast. The show will be focusing on a very common yet overlooked issue: what a pet animal goes through after being abandoned. It will follow the story of a cat called Kevin who finds himself at a pet rescue in Astoria, Queens, after the human couple he was the pet of breaks up.
Plaza is also an executive producer of the show and voices a character in it. As Deadline reports. A voice cast list, along with Plaza, has been finalised.
Kevin's voice cast
Kevin is a show that will show us the perspective of a cat. Besides, he is now living at a pet rescue with other animals, which means most of the leading characters of the show are animals. As Deadline reports, Jason Schwartzman voices Kevin, Aubrey Plaza voices Dana, Whoopi Goldberg voices Cupcake, John Waters voices Armando, Aparna Nancherla voices Judy, Gil Ozeri voices Seth, and Amy Sedaris voices Brandi.

The show's logline, according to Deadline, is,
Kevin is about a life-long housecat who decides that he doesn’t want to live with people anymore. Loosely inspired by a real break-up and the cat caught in the middle, Kevin dares to ask himself, “Is there a world where I don’t do the owner thing and am just… single for the rest of my life?”
Kevin, in true cat fashion, is an independent cat. He is a tuxedo cat and belonged to a couple. But after they broke up, he chose to be by himself and see if he liked to be owner-free. We are not told much about the couple Kevin earlier 'belonged' to, but Aubrey Plaza's Dana was one of the two people who made the couple, and was also the one who chose to break up.
Kevin is welcomed into the pet rescue by an optimistic Scottish Fold kitten, Judy. Another cat at the pet rescue is Armando, a Persian cat. While Judy is hopeful that a loving human will adopt her, Armando fiercely does not want to be adopted and cherishes the freedom he has instead. Cupcake is another cat at the pet rescue, who is hairless and feral. She is also unpredictable and strategic, staying at the pet rescue simply because staying there allows her to terrorise other animals and humans.

The pet rescue is run by Seth, who loves animals and rarely has any boundaries with them. He also has a dog of his own, Brandi. Thus, Kevin seems to be more about the animals than the humans for the most part. It is also a tribute to a real cat, as Wengert said to Deadline. He said,
“I am extremely excited to be working with Amazon and my old friends Aubrey and Dan on this show,”
He continued,
“The real Kevin was with me during some of my lowest moments. This show is my chance to thank him– by creating a world where he can find less of a total bummer situation for himself.”
Other executive producers of the show are Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio. The show is collaboratively produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios. Prime Video has yet to release a trailer or release date for the show, but it will likely arrive at the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. Stay tuned for more information.
