Sky has unveiled the first look at its upcoming six-part action-thriller series Prisoner, starring Tahar Rahim and Izuka Hoyle. The manhunt series, created and written by Matt Charman, will be released in 2026 on Sky.The network has shared a first-look photo of Rahim and Hoyle. Recently, Charman-created British political thriller series Hostage debuted on Netflix. The show stars Suranne Jones, Julie Delpy and Corey Mylchreest in the lead roles.Prisoner will be directed by Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders’ BAFTA-winning director Otto Bathurst and produced by Charman's production company Binocular Productions.The official synopsis for the show reads as follows:''When Amber and Tibor's convoy is brutally ambushed, she’s forced to put her life in his hands. The gritty atmosphere and their surroundings suggest that Prisoner will be an intense and high-stakes series. Additionally, Amber and Tibor's complicated dynamics will add another layer of intrigue and suspense in the narrative.Tahar Rahim, who plays Tibor in the series, is a BAFTA Rising Star Award-nominated French actor, famous for his role in the 2009 prison crime film A Prophet. He is also known for the miniseries The Serpent and Madame Web. His fellow lead and Scottish actress, Izuka Hoyle, is best known for her performance in the 2021 movie Boiling Point, which also won her a Scottish BAFTA. Hoyle also had recurring roles in The Responder and Dinner with the Parents.In addition to Hoyle and Rahim, Prisoner also stars Eddie Marsan, Youssef Kerkour, Catherine McCormack, Brían F. O’Byrne, Leonie Benesch, Ken Nwosu, Finn Bennett, Sam Troughton and Laurie Davidson.Sky is yet to reveal a release date for the series, but it will likely arrive in early 2026.
