Jensen Ackles was last seen on the Prime Video hit show, The Boys, where he plays Soldier Boy. He will also be seen on the upcoming season of the show as Soldier Boy, and will also be joined by his Supernatural costars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, making for a mini-reunion along with the creator of both shows, Eric Kripke.

So, The Boys Season 5 will be a treat for the Supernatural fans, but the fun doesn't end there. Jensen Ackles is also set to star in another upcoming Prime Video show titled Countdown. When talking about his character Mark Meachum in the show, Ackles revealed that fans of Dean Winchester will feel a certain familiarity with Meachum.

He described Mark Meechum as a character in the same spectrum as that of Supernatural's Dean Winchester, but in completely different circumstances:

"There's probably going to be some familiarity from that fandom with this guy, It's not like I'm going so opposite spectrum with this character. He's going to be a familiar taste, which is good. I like doing that. I mean, I played Dean for 15 years. I loved playing that kind of a character. And I think this guy is in the vein of that, just with a completely different set of circumstances."

Ackles revealed that he enjoyed playing characters similar to that of Dean Winchester in Supernatural: ones who are the embodiment of bravery and sarcasm at the same time, and Mark Meachum in Countdown is in a similar vein. Ackles describes his character Mark as somewhat similar, but a detective instead of a demon hunter this time. Talking about Mark, he said that he's a:

"rogue L.A. detective, wrong-side-of-the-tracks kind of guy [who] takes risks that most people wouldn't take."

Prime Video's Countdown is created by one of the co-creators of One Chicago, Derek Hass. This show, ideated in Chicago P.D., revolves around a task force made up of a bunch of law enforcement professionals from various facets, who have to come together in order to succeed in their missions. Ackles will be joined by Eric Dane, Jessica Camacho, Elliot Knight, Violett Beane, and Uli Latukefu on this task force. Hass revealed that these people coming together is what might make the show an interesting watch for the viewers:

"Putting this disparate group together and then emphasizing different strengths is what makes the show. And watching as they come together as a team. I think that's what the viewers are going to find really interesting."
