The very recent episode of The Amazing Race saw an elimination that broke fans' hearts. Mark and Brett, the beloved racers, were the ones sent home after getting lost not once, but two times.
The two had built up a reputation for being the strongest players in the race after spending a few legs on the season. They have bagged the first position twice while never going down below fourth place ever. However, this was the first time they ever faltered.
Mark and Brett hail from Las Vegas and work as performers. In the France leg of The Amazing Race, as soon as they had to start, the two got lost. This cost them a significant amount of time to develop and go further than they had expected to.
To make up, the two decided to enter Detour, and this made up for the time that they had initially lost. However, the two got to the bottom once again when they decided to follow Alyssa and Josiah, and it was then that they were at the bottom of the list.
Sharing a post on their Instagram, the couple expressed their gratitude towards The Amazing Race for allowing them to explore an adventure they never would have thought of doing. The two wrote,
"We told ourselves from the beginning if we didn’t win, we would run every leg of the race. And if we didn’t run every leg of the race we were going to be able to look back at how we ran the race and be proud of ourselves.
Adding, they wrote,
The race changed our lives, we had far from an easy race and when pushed to our limits, we learned what we really are capable of. We laughed, a lot, we cried, a lot, and we made lifelong memories, not only with each other, but with new friends we love deeply."
The Amazing Race stars Brett and Mark Romaine share their feelings about the recent elimination
Sharing a clip from The Amazing Race episode where Phil Keoghan is telling them about their elimination, Mark and Brett shared their feelings. During that moment, Brett had tears in his eyes as Mark consoled him.
The couple noted that they gave a tough competition to all the other teams with them, and some of them might even sleep a little better that night knowing that the duo is not racing anymore.
Mark was thankful for the opportunity that they had travelling the world and having an adventure along with the same while Brett was a little bummed out that they could not win.
They wrote on Instagram,
"The truth is we were a lot stronger as a team than we had imagined. The race taught us to remember to have fun and to meet the moment, because you CAN. There’s a lot of things you can’t control but these things you can, and for that, we’re so grateful. Grateful to be a part of @theamazingrace family and to have been gifted this seed of belief in ourselves that’s been planted. 🌎🛫🩵 what an adventure."
The Amazing Race season 37 airs weekly on CBS at 9:30 PM Eastern Time. Later, the episodes can be streamed online via a Paramount Plus subscription
