Jeremy’s son had undergone a heart operation at NYU Langone Medical Center, but his father was forced to take him from the hospital as its basements had flooded with stormwater. Jeremy said:

“I started my trek through New York City and it was this very dystopian feeling of walking down 34th Street with no people around and the wind is whipping the trees and rain is pelting and I just had to keep pushing forward and soaked to the bone uh but continuing to just try to get there. I rounded the corner and saw the hospital and the first thing that stood out to me was just the flashing ambulance lights. I was looking down First Avenue and there was just ambulance after ambulance as far as the eye could see lined up at the hospital and I'm seeing gurneys roll by with very intensively needy patients. It was like nothing I could've ever imagined, seeing an emergency unfolding before my eyes. At that point it was clear we were facing something no one had prepared for. And I'm just feeling this drive to go find my son.”
