Reasonable Doubt Season 3 Episode 4 recap: The truth about Ozzie Edwards' abuser comes to light

Hulu's popular legal drama Reasonable Doubt Season 3, Episode 4, titled Friend or Foe dropped on October 2, 2025.

The episode reveals the true identity of Ozzie Edward's abuser, explores the dynamics between Daniel, and features a heated argument between Eddie and Lewis.

Previously, in Reasonable Doubt Season 3, Jax Stewart takes on the case of Ozzie Edwards, a former child artist who is accused of killing his hairstylist girlfriend, Wendy. Jax manages to get Ozzie out of prison on bail. However, he's an absolute mess, landing in trouble now and then.

Jax instructs Daniel to keep an eye on him. Jax schedules an appointment with a therapist, who finds out that Ozzie was a victim of se**** abuse when he was a teen. Meanwhile, Jax's personal life is a mess, too. The sudden return of her estranged father, Eddie, messes things up for her. Meanwhile, Lewis and Jax struggle to keep Toni and Jayden's truth from their children.

Reasonable Doubt Season 3 Episode 4: Daniel and Kristen's growing bond does not sit well with Ozzie

The episode opens with Jax and Daniel meeting Ozzie's sister Kristen. Jax asks Kristen whether she knew about how Ozzie procured the drug on the night of Wendy's murder. Kristen reveals that she did not know about how he got it, and in fact, Wendy was helping him to stay clean.

However, after reluctant questioning, Kristen reveals the truth that she did give drugs to Ozzie on that fateful night. Kristen also mentions Byron, Ozzie's former dealer. Jax asks Daniel to follow up on Byron, whose statements could solidify the case. Daniel's awkward greetings make it clear that he has already fallen for Kristen.

We also get a glimpse of Bill's messed-up personal life. Clearly, his relationship with Kendra isn't going smoothly. However, at the end of the episode, Bill's effort impresses Kendra. Back in the firm, Jax discusses the case with others and paints a scenario proving Ozzie was high on drugs at the time Wendy was killed.

Daniel and Kristen were chilling and laughing over some videos. Kristen puts her head on his shoulder, and the two just begin to chat about the case and eventually their feelings, when Ozzie interrupts them. Ozzie asks Daniel to leave and tells Kristen to stay away from him since he's part of his legal team.

Reasonable Doubt Season 3 Episode 4: Naima finds out about the Toni-Lewis affair

When Naima finds out about Lewis and Toni's relationship and their dead child, she grows furious and slams the door in her parents' faces. At the dinner table, Lewis and Jax try to make Spense and Naima understand the situation, but Naima is in no mood to listen, blames them, and they walk away.

Eddie meets Naima and Spense and introduces himself as their grandfather. Eddie confesses to his past, and he begins to gel with the kids. Eddie even helps Naima and Spense with the Toni situation, the reason they stopped interacting with their parents.

But when Lewis came to know about Eddie meeting the kids, he was not quite annoyed. Jax was happy with the outcome, though, since Eddie managed to help the kids. Lewis met Eddie and asked him to stay out of their family matter. The two get into a heated argument.

Reasonable Doubt Season 3 Episode 4: The truth about Ozzie's abuser

When Jax tells Ozzie that he needs to go public with the abuse incident, he initially denies. But when Jax makes him understand the situation and how it could help the case, he finally agrees. Jax assures him that the story will not look like a PR stunt and will officially come out from the courts. She also tells Ozzie to share it with his parents first, which leaves them heartbroken.

Meanwhile, Daniel goes through Ozzie's journals, where he finds out about the truth of his abuser. Turns out, his abuser was his manager, Monica, who exploited him since he was just 13.
