Release date for Apple TV’s Shrinking Season 3 finally revealed

Shrinking Season 3 was greenlit back in October 2024, the same month Season 2 of the show was released. Shrinking follows a therapist who, following his wife’s death, starts being brutally honest with his patients about what he thinks about their issues. This breaks the rules he must follow as a medical professional, and that gradually starts to affect both his and his patients' lives.

Shrinking Season 1 was released in January 2023, followed by Season 2 in October 2024. As Apple recently announced in a press release, Shrinking Season 3 is set to be released on January 28, 2026, and will have eleven episodes.

Shrinking Season 3 is coming to Apple TV in 2026

Shrinking Season 2 ended with Jimmy finding Louis at a train station and stopping him from ending his life. By saving Louis, Jimmy finally began to let go of his guilt over Tia’s death and took a real step toward healing. Later, during Thanksgiving dinner, Paul gave a moving speech about being thankful for his friends and family, especially as he deals with Parkinson’s disease.

Jimmy also opened up to his daughter, Alice, and asked for her forgiveness. It was a quiet but powerful scene that shows how much he has grown. The season ended with a sense of hope as each character is learning to be more honest and kind, and is perhaps ready for a new start in Season 3.

Shrinking Season 3 will be released on Apple TV on January 28. It will premiere with a single episode, and the next ten episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays until April 8, 2026. A few guest stars will be returning for Season 3, including Brett Goldstein as Louis Winston, Damon Wayans Jr. as Derrick #2, Wendie Malick as Dr. Julie Baram, and Cobie Smulders as Sofi. Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox are joining the show for Season 3. Apple TV has also released first-look pictures for Season 3, giving us a sneak peek at what's coming.

Shrinking is created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett Goldstein, who are also executive producers, along with Neil Goldman, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, James Ponsoldt, Randall Keenan Winston, Annie Mebane, Rachna Fruchbom, and Brian Gallivan. Kip Kroeger is the producer. The show is produced collaboratively by 3 Chance Productions, Corporate Mandate, Doozer Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.
