Resident Alien is returning for a fourth season, and yes, things are changing—again. Following a cliffhanger-filled third season that added alien abductions and doppelgängers to the mix, the series is coming back with new episodes and some logistical shifts. The series, starring Alan Tudyk, will now be airing on a new day, at a new time, and for the first time in its history, it will be simulcast on both Syfy and USA Network.

Season 4 officially premieres on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, and will air weekly in that same Friday night time slot. Creator Chris Sheridan has confirmed that the season will include 10 episodes, which will be available on Peacock a week following their cable premiere.

A new trailer is available, and it seems like Season 4 will double down on its mix of mystery, emotional beats, and irreverent sci-fi comedy.

Resident Alien Season 4 release date

Resident Alien Season 4 will premiere on June 6, 2025, with fresh episodes to air every Friday at 11 p.m. ET/PT. The series will air at the same time on Syfy and USA Network, a departure from its usual weekday airings. The revised time slot puts the series on late-night TV, but it will continue to roll out weekly episodes.

Resident Alien Season 4 streaming details

As opposed to previous seasons where next-day streaming was provided, Resident Alien Season 4 episodes will stream on Peacock one week following their TV broadcast. This shift in streaming schedule applies to all 10 episodes, and fans will have to wait a little longer for digital viewing than they were used to.

What happened previously on Resident Alien

Season 3 concluded with several cliffhangers: Harry and his half-human daughter, Bridget, were kidnapped by the Greys, and the enigmatic new alien threat—the Mantids—were introduced as an Earth-threatening danger. Simultaneously, Harry's doppelgänger roused suspicion in Patience, and several townsfolk found themselves increasingly immersed in the extraterrestrial turmoil.

The season concluded with unresolved storylines on both the alien and human sides.

What to expect from Season 4

The Season 4 premiere should straight up confront the fallout of last season's finale. With Harry and his daughter held captive by the Greys and Mantids and the Mantids now posing an even greater threat, the stakes feel higher than ever. Fans can probably anticipate answers regarding the Mantids' intentions, further explanation of the doppelgänger's origins, and how Harry intends to get Asta and the people of Patience back.

The trailer also hints at more action and deeper character development.

Further details about Resident Alien Season 4

Alan Tudyk (Harry), Sara Tomko (Asta), Corey Reynolds (Sheriff Mike), Alice Wetterlund (D'Arcy), and Levi Fiehler (Mayor Ben) all reprise their original roles. Chris Sheridan again serves as showrunner, and the series continues to be adapted from Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse's comic book.

The overall creative direction of the series will likely stay the same even as the narrative opens up new alien worlds.

Season 4 represents changes in scheduling and streaming access but maintains the essence of the show, balancing offbeat humor, sci-fi suspense, and human emotion in equal proportions.
