More about Revival

Starring Melanie Scrofano, David James Elliott, Romy Weltman, and Andy McQueen in key roles, Revival consists of 8 episodes. The official synopsis reads as follows:

“One miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly return to life. But these are not zombies, as the "revived" appear and behave just as they did before. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Dana Cypress, a down-on-her-luck and crass police officer and single mother, is thrust into a peculiar murder investigation-one where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone, whether living or revived, is a suspect.”

With a premise that is so interesting, the show marks Melanie Scrofano’s return to SyFy, as she had previously been part of Wynonna Earp as the titular character. As she is joined by Romy Weltman playing the character of Martha "Em" Cypress, Scrofano’s Dana Cypress’ sister, the show also focuses on the relationship between the two and how they navigate the events unfolding in the small town of Wisconsin.

Talking about landing the role and her experience of working with Scrofano, Weltman told in an interview with Collider,

“It was a dream come true, honestly. I got the part [and] the turnaround for me was really quick. Right before I left for New Brunswick, I got a DM that said ‘You and me, Sis,’ from Melanie. I didn't know anything! I didn't know that she was playing my sister at the time, so I was like, ‘Oh my god! It's Wynonna Earp!’”

She further added,

“I was freaking out and so excited. We met and instantly clicked, I think. My first impression of Mel was that she is a safe space and a really easy person to be around.”

Their sisterly chemistry is visible on screen as they deal with the supernatural and morbid things happening in their locality.

Revival can be streamed on Peacock.
