Pluribus, the latest show by Vince Gilligan has just premiered on Apple TV with the first two episodes on November 7, 2025. Fans had high expectations from the show given that Gilligan's previous projects like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul were massive successes. As of November 8, 2025, Pluribus has the Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%, which is a perfect one.

Rhea Seehorn plays the Pluribus' protagonist, Carol Sturka, who is one of the only twelve unhappy people in the world, who haven't been infected by a virus that makes everyone happy. Variety spoke with Rhea Seehorn at the PaleyFest NY, who expressed her satisfaction and happiness about the perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Rhea Seehorn on Pluribus' perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

The first two episodes of Pluribus have been released on Apple TV, titled, We Is Us and Pirate Lady. The first week of a show's release is crucial as it allows the cast and crew to understand what critics and the general audience think of the show initially. At the time of writing this article, Pluribus has a 100% score on the Tomatometer and 88% score on the Popcornmeter, which is a huge success for a show in its first week.

Speaking with Variety, Rhea Seehorn, who plays Carol Sturka in the show, shared her reaction to the show's success, saying,

"I'm not reading the reviews, but my publicist and my family were nice enough to... I said 'If they're bad, like, warn me because I'm about to go out there on carpets and press and everything'. And they said, 'Everybody loves the show, and they love your performance in it.' And they left it at that."

Many actors refuse to read reviews since they might be demotivating or might create different perceptions of how the projects are really doing. Seehorn thus chose to not read reviews herself, but wanted to be aware of the general reaction. She went on to speak on how much Pluribus' success means to her, saying,

"Honestly, the first reaction is relief, I didn't want to disappoint Vince, I didn't want to disappoint Apple or Sony, I didn't wanna disappoint myself or fans. And I also just, I have such respect for how hard Vince worked it and my whole crew and the writers and directors that worked on it. I wanted people to receive this thing that we put our blood, sweat, and tears into."

Seehorn continued,

"As far as the success of the show, there's, 500 shows on the air, it's insane, you could be doing the best work of your life and no one's watching it and Vince has a following if fans that not only will follow his work and then some of them now follow me, which has been lovely. He rewards fans for their intelligence, and so they are completely ready to go with a story that takes twists and turns and takes on a ride and doesn't tell you what to think and inspires conversations instead of answers. So the fact that they respond to that means a lot to me."

As Seehorn said, fans are responding to Pluribus and its story well. It is indeed a show which has a complex story, one we can't decode just yet, and from the show's success till now, fans and critics are loving the direction in which the show is headed.

The first two episodes of Pluribus showed us how the extraterrestrial virus reached earth, and eventually infected everyone on it due to an outbreak. Carol lost her partner Helen to the virus, and when she finally made it home from all the chaos, a man on the TV spoke to her live from the White House saying that Carol and eleven others are immune to the virus.

But he also said that the immune people would soon be made to join everyone. With the help of Zosia, an infected, Carol met five other immune people who speak English, but soon learns that they do not want the world to back to how if was. Carol however, wants to find a cure. The virus is non-violent, but killed over 800 million people during the first 'Joining' event. Besides, Carol's angry outburst at hearing the other five's wishes triggered a hive-mind seizure in everyone, killing an additional 11 million people worldwide.

Carol is, thus, determined to find a cure and in the next episodes we'll see how she saved earth from this virus of happiness. The next episodes of Pluribus will be released on November 14, 2025. There are nine episodes in total, which will be released weekly on Fridays till December 26, 2025.
