MGM+'s action-adventure series, Robin Hood, is taking the notch higher with each episode.

Previously, in Robin Hood, we got a glimpse of the origins of our titular hero and how the circumstances forced him to be an outlaw. In Episode 3, we also got a sneak peek at the early days of his outlaw band. It ends on a cliffhanger when Aaron Huntington attacks their hut and kills John's dog. In defence, Ralph kills Aaron.

Episode 4, titled The Cause of this Unrest delves into the aftermath of the incident, with Sheriff and Bishop planning for Robin's capture, and Little John mourning his pet's death.

The synopsis for Robin Hood Episode 4, as per IMDb, reads as follows:

"Rob leads a daring heist to steal the Sheriff's own bounty for his capture; success could fund their cause - but the risks force every outlaw to face the true cost of rebellion"

Here's what happened in Robin Hood Episode 4.

Robin Hood Episode 4 recap: Meet the new allies in Sherwood- Friar Tuck, Spragart, and Mary

In the forest, guilt and hunger hang over Robert's camp. Little John grieves for his dog, and Robert cannot shake the feeling that Aaron did not deserve this. The group has almost no food. The Millers talk about heading to a nearby village, but it's too risky. Instead, they decide to rob whoever passes on the road.

They stop a wagon headed to the abbey with supplies. One guard flees, but the driver refuses to run. He knows that the Bishop will abuse him if he runs out empty-handed. The man introduces himself as Friar Tuck, a Norman.

Tuck explains how men like the Bishop and Sheriff use faith as a shield while robbing the poor. His anger is calm but firm. His words make Robert realize the poor Normans are victims too of the oppression. Tuck chooses to stay and fight with them.

Soon, two more thieves, Spragat and Mary, also join the outlaw band.

Robin Hood Episode 4 recap: Nottingham demands action, but power comes with a price

The episode opens with pressure inside Nottingham. Robert is no longer viewed as a fugitive. He is now considered a symbol of the uprising, especially after being linked to multiple violent encounters. He's a clear threat to the Norman power. The Sheriff discusses the issue with the Bishop of Hereford. Robert has killed royal guards, and he's also been blamed for Aaron Huntingdon's death. Although no one knows if Robert swung the fatal blow or if one of his people did. For now, both Robert and his outlaw group are wanted.

The Bishops suggest bringing in more soldiers from Warwick and Leicester to hunt down Robert and his group. The Sheriff, however, tells him that bringing in more soldiers would require more funds and that they would not receive any help from King Henry.

The Bishop even suggests dropping the plan, but the Sheriff knows that letting Robert roam free would make him look weak. He proposes a different plan, a bigger bounty, and two hundred soldiers. One half of the expenses is to be paid by Nottingham and the other half by the abbey. He promises the Church will be repaid from the taxes later. The Bishop agrees and sets off to collect the money, unknowingly putting himself in danger.
