Although there's no official announcement for Rulers of Fortune Season 2, here are 5 questions that it needs to answer in the next installment.

But before diving into it, here's what the show is all about. Netflix's latest Brazilian crime thriller, Rulers of Fortune, premiered on October 29, 2025.

The series follows an ambitious young lad, Jefferson, known as Profeta, who claws his way into Rio's criminal world. Season 1 tracks his ruthless rise from planning heists with his brothers to manipulating powerful people. The finale sees Profeta ambush his rival Bufalo, silence a blackmailing detective, and earn a position on the Board.

However, victory comes at a cost; Xavier dies by suicide, but in the note he left behind, he reveals that Leila, one of Rio's most powerful figures, is his mother. Meanwhile, Bufalo's widow, Suzana, is alive and now all she wants is revenge.

Let's dive straight into five burning questions that need to be answered in Rulers of Fortune Season 2.

Rulers of Fortune Season 2 needs to answer these 5 burning questions

1) Will Suzana return, and how will she strike back in Rulers of Fortune Season 2?

Suzana's story didn't end with Bufalo's death. Profeta spared her life but made one mistake: he let her walk away. In a world built on revenge, that's not a smart move, and when Profeta knows he's surrounded by enemies, he should've kept an eye on her.

Suzana lost her husband, Bufalo, her home, and her power, but she still carries her father's legacy and a legal claim to Guerra's fortune. Season 2, if it happens, will likely see her re-emerge, smarter and colder, to claw her way back to the Board's circle. She can ally with Galego or function on her own. One thing is clear: Suzana could become a serious threat to Profeta.

2) When and how will Profeta reveal his true parentage and to whom?

One of the biggest twists in the finale was Xavier's suicide letter, which revealed that Leila, Galego's wife, is Profeta's biological mother. Profeta now knows that his life was built on lies, manipulation, and murder, including the fact that it was Xavier who killed his biological father, Jose.

But Profeta hasn't yet told anyone about it. Not Leila, not Mirna, not even his brothers. Rulers of Fortune Season 2's tension will hinge on what happens when the truth is out. Perfota can use it to gain leverage and destroy Galego. How would Leila confront his son? Either way, the truth can't stay buried for long.

3) Can Profeta actually hold power, or will rivals topple him in Rulers of Fortune Season 2?

Profeta finally has what he wanted, a seat on the Board. But power in the Rulers of Fortune comes with danger. The Board is crawling with men who are hungry for money and power. Whether he rules Rio or is devoured by it remains to be seen.

4) Will Esquelato act on his vendetta, and how far will he go?

Profeta's younger brother Esquelato is the wild card. He's deeply hurt over Sombra's death, a murder ordered by Profeta himself. Esquelato's anger is valid, and it's only a matter of time before it erupts into something that could change the dynamics.

In Rulers of Fortune Season 2, expect him to break away from his family and build his own life. He might also possibly team up with Suzana, another rival faction. The best part? He knows Profeta's weakness too well.

Is there a surviving witness or hidden trail that could expose Profeta in Rulers of Fortune Season 2?

Profeta believes he's erased all threats. Emerson, the detective who blackmailed him, is dead. The tape is gone. But Rulers of Fortune has never been about clean getaways. Evidence has a way of resurfacing. Maybe someone copied the footage. Maybe Emerson told someone before he died. Or maybe another player might have been secretly gathering evidence.

Rulers of Fortune Season 2 might introduce law enforcement, journalists, or international figures determined to expose Rio's criminal world.

The road ahead

Ruler of Fortune Season 2 won't just be about who rules Rio; it is about who survives it. Profeta's throne is shaky, his family fractured, and his enemies are multiplying. Another question that Season 2 needs to answer is what's next for Nelinho and Tamires? All episodes of Rulers of Fortune are available to stream on Netflix.
