The storyline of episode 15 of Scandal Season 2 is a blend of many complications that were ongoing in the series. There is intensity with a combination of mystery and urgency. It perfectly captures the essence of this political drama.

This episode of Scandal Season 2 brings forth a complex situation for Olivia. At the beginning of the episode, Olivia goes on a date with Jake Ballard. Though she does not want to call it a date, Jake says otherwise. Her only motive for this meeting is to find out more about Albatross.

She is also tasked with finding a match for Caldwell, which causes further trouble for her in this episode. It cannot be denied that Kerry Washington’s performance in this episode perfectly captures the intense aspect in a distinct manner. She is capable of bringing out the elements that this episode needed to deliver, making the viewers hooked throughout. Some of Kerry Washington’s other projects include The Last King of Scotland, Django Unchained, Lift, etc.


2) Scott Foley as Jake Ballard

Right from the beginning of this episode, Scott Foley’s Jake Ballard steals the show. Jake’s intense nature, as can be seen during his date with Olivia, creates intrigue. As the episode progresses, Jake is also introduced as Fitz’s old friend in this episode as he arrives at Fitz’s office to discuss Olivia.

Jake tries to stop the surveillance. However, Fitz does not want him to stop. Fitz wants to keep on investigating her through the surveillance. Scott Foley definitely gives a convincing performance with his authentic depiction of the emotions that Jake is going through in the series.


3) Tony Goldwyn as President Fitzgerald Grant

Tony Goldwyn perfectly captures the struggle that Fitz is going through because of his present situation with the hostages. Fitz is also eagerly trying to find out about the identity of the mole.

A striking aspect of this episode is the way Fitz makes Jake keep the surveillance on Olivia despite Jake’s words. Fitz even tells Jake that Olivia is not a good person. Things are definitely taking a turn for Fitz in this episode of Scandal. Some of Tony Goldwyn’s other projects are Conviction, King Richard, etc.


4) Columbus Short as Harrison Wright

Columbus Short’s Harrison’s presence in this episode was quite short, yet he made an impact with a major discovery about the Caldwell family. He informs Olivia that the informant was someone from the family.

This makes Olivia finally understand the true reason behind Will’s refusal to date anyone. Besides this series, Columbus Short’s other notable projects include Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Finding Tony, etc.


5) Sam Page as Will Caldwell

This episode’s focus shifts to Sam Page’s Will Caldwell’s journey of finding a partner so that he becomes more acceptable to the conservative donors. Will’s brother thinks that he is gay, along with the many rumors, as he has never dated anyone in the past ten years. Olivia wants Will to become the first gay governor. However, Will tells her that he is not gay.

Hence, Will's journey to find a fake wife begins. Sam Page’s performance in this episode brings out a layer of lightheartedness that perfectly balances the intense atmosphere surrounding the other complexities that the characters go through.
