Schitt's Creek, the Canadian sitcom, aired on CBS Television from 2015 to 2020 and ran for six seasons. The show was created by Daniel and his father, Eugene Levy, who also starred as father and son in the series. Other leading roles of the cast were played by Catherine O'Hara, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire, and Noah Reid.
Schitt's Creek was one of the most popular sitcoms on television, known for its writing and humour. It went on to win multiple awards, including all seven major categories for the Comedy segment at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards. The cast is a memorable one and has been successful in the years that followed.

Schitt's Creek follows the wealthy Rose family, who lose all their money overnight. The show portrays how the Rose family, Johny, Moira, and their two children, David and Alexis, lose their mansion and money, and move to a motel in Schitt's Creek, a town in Canada, which was their only left asset.
The show humorously depicts the family's struggles as they try to understand how life is difficult for others who haven't had the same privileges and adjust to a simpler life.
Daniel Levy, co-creator of the show, starred as David Rose, Johny and Moira's son. He is extremely meticulous, loves fashion, and his open about his pansexual identity. David explaining his sexuality to Stevie, a clerk at the motel in Season 1, ended up creating a lot of buzz within the LGBTQIA+ community and was dubbed as iconic and groundbreaking queer representation within television at the time.
Daniel Levy had begun his career as a co-host of MTV Live. He then went on to star as a film producer in Degrassi Goes Hollywood (2009) and the comedy-drama Admission (2013) before he co-created, produced, directed, and starred in Schitt's Creek.
After the show ended, Daniel Levy wrote, directed, produced, and starred as Marc Dreyfus in Good Grief (2023), played Benjamin in The Idol, and Mr. Molloy in Sex Education. Levy's future projects, which are yet to be released, include Animal Friends and At the Sea.
Eugene Levy played Johny Rose in Schitt's Creek, the patriarch of the Rose family, who does his best to keep his family happy. Eugene Levy is most popularly known for playing Noah Levenstein in the film comedy series American Pie (1999–2012), Waiting for Guffman (1996), and For Your Consideration (2006), among others.
After Schitt's Creek, Levy has voiced the character Paul Crumbhorn in Human Resources (2023), played Doctor in Star-Crossed: The Film (2021), and as Stevie D in Summer Camp (2024). He also played himself, playing Charles Haden-Savage in Only Murders in the Building Season 4 (2024).
Catherine O'Hara played Moira Rose, a former Soap Opera actress, who is the epitome of upper-class pride with a matching accent. O'Hara had an extensive career before Schitt's Creek, but the show made her popular among newer and younger audiences.
The actress had starred in films like Beetlejuice (1988), Home Alone (1990), and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), voiced multiple characters. After Schitt's Creek, she has starred as Patty Leigh in The Studio and as Gail Lynden in The Last of Us Season 2.
Annie Murphy starred as Alexis Rose in the CBS Television sitcom. Alexis was David's younger sister, whose whole personality was about being rich and travelling before the family lost their money.
Before starring as Alexis, Annie Murphy appeared in guest roles in Blue Mountain State, Flashpoint, Rookie Blue, and The Plateaus. Since Schitt’s Creek ended, she has starred as Allison McRoberts in Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021-2022), as a young Ruth Benner in Russian Doll Season 2 (2022), as Joan in the Black Mirror episode Joan Is Awful (2023), and voiced Chelsea in Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023).
Emily Hampshire played Stevie Budd, the clerk at the motel owned by the Rose family. Prior to Schitt’s Creek, Emily Hampshire had acted in Boy Meets Girl (1998), Snow Cake (2006), and 12 Monkeys (2015-2018).
After Schitt's Creek ended in 2020, Hampshire has starred as Emma in The End of Sex (2022), Rachel York in Humane (2024), Rebecca Morgan in Chapelwaite (2021), Rose Mason in The Rig (2023-present), and will appear as E.D.I.T.H. in Vision Quest (2026).

Before Schitt’s Creek, Noah Reid had worked in theatre from a young age, acted in various television series and films, voiced in shows like Franklin the Turtle, and played the lead in Kevin From Work.
After Schitt’s Creek wrapped in 2020, he made his Broadway debut in Tracy Lett's The Minutes in 2022, released his third album Adjustments (2022), and appeared in the Prime Video sci-fi neo-Western thriller Outer Range (2024) as Billy Tillerson.
