Seven Sisters has officially moved from pilot talk to a full series order, and yes, it is heading to Hulu under FX. The show stars Elizabeth Olsen and brings a huge cast with her. The show is moving forward, the cast is locked, and the story is already raising eyebrows. Seven Sisters is a family drama with a strange twist, backed by FX and made for Hulu. Here is everything we know so far, without the noise.
A strange family bond that starts to crack in unexpected ways
Seven Sisters is about a big family that looks strong from the outside but starts to bend under pressure. The story centers on Adrienne, played by Elizabeth Olsen, one of seven sisters who suddenly begins hearing a voice no one else can hear.

That single change sends ripples through the entire family and forces old secrets to come back up. The show leans into emotions, tension, and the quiet fear of not knowing what is real.
Elizabeth Olsen is joined by Cristin Milioti and J. Smith Cameron, with a cast that feels stacked from top to bottom. Odessa Young, Meredith Hagner, Zoë Winters, Bridget Brown, and Carolyn Kettig play the sisters alongside Olsen. Philip Ettinger appears as their brother, while Anthony Edwards and J. Smith Cameron step in as the parents. Ryan Eggold plays Adrienne’s husband, adding another layer to the family chaos.
Behind the scenes, the story comes from writer Will Arbery, director Sean Durkin, and producer Garrett Basch. The pilot also reunites Olsen and Durkin years after their film Martha Marcy May Marlene.
When The Hollywood Reporter asked Olsen about working with Durkin again, she said,
“It was more fun than I ever expected.”
She added,
“It was really nice to get to work with each other again after 15 years of going off and developing ourselves in different ways — with life and with work.”
Why FX and Hulu are going all in on Seven Sisters
FX ordering Seven Sisters says a lot about how confident the network feels. Gina Balian, President of FX Entertainment, explained the decision clearly in a statement shared publicly.
She said,
“We’ve been on the lookout for a compelling family drama, and when Will Arbery and Garrett Basch brought us Seven Sisters, we found one that felt uniquely FX.”
She continued,
“It lives in the deep relatable dynamics of adult siblings and their parents but does so in a way that’s bold and original with an unexpected twist.”
FX Productions is backing the show fully, and Hulu will be its home. This also marks Garrett Basch’s fifth series with FX, following Devs, Reservation Dogs, What We Do in the Shadows, and The Lowdown.

FX recently greenlit only two drama pilots, and Seven Sisters was one of them. The other, a Snowfall spinoff, was picked up earlier, making this order feel carefully chosen.
With a trusted creative team, a strong cast, and FX’s full support, the Elizabeth Olsen drama feels like a slow-burning drama that plans to stay with viewers long after each episode ends.
Seven Sisters is officially moving forward, and the pieces already feel solid. FX has greenlit, Hulu has the series, and Elizabeth Olsen is ready as the lead, along with a cast built for deep and emotional storytelling.
With a mysterious premise, a well-trusted creative team, and a strong network backing up the show, the FX series is clearly all out to be one of those shows people talk about nonstop once it sees its release.
