Apple TV+'s Severance is finally back with season 2 after a long wait of three years, and Episode 1 premiered on January 17, 2025.
The sci-fi show is based on a mysterious experiment done by the Lumon Industries on their employees, which separates their home self from their work self's consciousness to such an extent that they feel both of these lives are separate for them.
Season 2 saw a return of the Severance cast, including Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, and Zach Cherry.
You might have also heard a familiar voice during the 'Lumon is listening' video, which was a voice cameo by actor Keanu Reeves.
In addition to being one of the most loved Hollywood actors, Reeves is also expanding to voice acting. He recently dubbed for the Secret Level pilot episode, Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Johnny Silverhand in the Cyberpunk 2077 video game.

Why did creator Dan Erikson choose Keanu Reeves for voice cameo in Severance Season 2?
If the Lumon building voice seemed eerily familiar to you while watching Severance Season 2 Episode 1, that is because it was none other than Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, who had a voice cameo in the show's sophomore premiere.
While Mr. Reeves is no stranger to the sci-fi world, having worked in The Matrix film franchise, seeing him voicing a building was quite unexpected.
People were quick to notice his voice cameo, and when asked how did Reeves came to be in season 2, creator Dan Erikson said (in an interview for Collider) that they had many actors in their mind for this role, but they eventually settled on Reeves:
“All I can say is that we talked about a couple of different people for that role. We always wanted it to be somebody that people have certain associations with, but also, it had to be a very warm presence. The Lumon building is very friendly in the context of this video, and there’s a friendliness to that particular voice and a heart to that particular voice.”
How was Keanu Reeves' voice used in Severance Season 2?
Reeves voiced for the Lumon building in the season 2 premiere when Milchik plays a video for the employees, which starts with 'Lumon is listening!' The video takes the employees on a journey of Lumon Industries and details its evolution since 1870 and expansion in 206 countries. It also highlights the 'Macrodat Uprising' of the employees.
In addition, Helly tries to hide her identity from her co-workers, and Mark is introduced to working on a mysterious Cold Harbor file connected to his wife Gemma, which shows that he is 68% completed.
Elsewhere, he tries his best to create chaos in his workplace by framing Mark W. and writes a note to his outie on Lumon Stationery. However, Milchik sees through this and outs him in front of his team, leaving them confused about his actions. Mark tries to reunite with his old team so that they can continue their investigation into the nature of Lumon in season 2.
While details of Lumon's work are still a mystery, the show's further episodes will delve further into the workings of the severed floor and the 'Cold Harbor' file, which was initially a working title for Severance.
