Shark Tank Season 17 Episode 3: Barbara Kent and Joanna Serra's pitch for $300,000 in exchange for 10% of their Fundraiser Blankets

The recently released Shark Tank Season 17 episode featured exciting products. This included a cleaning system for homegrown eggs, a reusable paint tray and lid system, superfood seasoning blends, customized blankets for fundraising, and more.

One of them was Barbara Kent and Joanna Serra's Fundraiser Blankets pitch. The two arrived with a young girl who also participated in the pitch.

"We're here seeking $300,000 and your school spirit in exchange for 10% of our company," the two pitched.

While Joanna was a military Veteran. Barbara introduced herself as a former public school teacher. The two co-founded Fundraiser Blankets with a mission to help kids raise money. They have already been helping sports teams, schools, and non-profit organizations to fundraise with their product.

Their pitch on Shark Tank continued:

"We faced countless battles. But nothing prepared us for our biggest mission yet...being PTO moms! "Fundraising is brutal. Your kid comes home with sad little order form."

The young girl mentioned how schools offer items such as candy bars for a "whopping profit of $0.10." As a result, individuals are stuck with $60 worth of chocolates or stale popcorn or wrapping papers in the name of fundraising.

"Say hello to...Fundraiser Blankets! Custom-designed blankets wrapped in school spirit for fundraising, families actually love! Our ultra-soft plush blankets come in two large sizes. Full-area print. Unbeatable pricing. And the best part? Zero calories!" shared Barbara and Joanna.

They also shared the process regarding how to get their blankets. After uploading the logo, users would get "trendy digital designs." They could either order in bulk or choose the pre-sales option.

Sharing more about their sales, the founders also mentioned having helped more than 4,000 schools in the last year. The two talked about how they had "warmed thousands of communities" with their blankets.

Joanna talked about how they were leading with mission. She noted that "keeping others at the heart of what you do," success would follow. Co-founder added that she and Barbara were honored to be able to share their story on Shark Tank.
