The Witcher Season 4 isn't far away and will pick up after the events of the previous chapter. The world is falling apart, and to make it even more challenging, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri aren't together anymore.
Another big reason why The Witcher Season 4 is highly anticipated is because of Henry Cavill's exit from the series, with Liam Hemsworth taking on the role. The actor mentioned being a fan himself and that he's excited for Geralt's journey moving forward.
The actor said:
"Any day I put on the actual body armor, and I’m in proper Witcher mode, I feel like it forces you to walk a little differently and hold your head a little higher."
With Hemsworth playing the lead role, the series also has other talented cast members like Sharlto Copley, who's portraying Leo Bonhart. The actor shed light on Bonhart and said:
"Leo is a bounty hunter and he hunts Witchers — mostly for fun as well. He's hired to chase after the Rats and Ciri, and Leo is hired to bring Falka to Skellen."
Per Copley, usual bounty hunters only kill to get paid. For Leo, he kills to enjoy the thrill. However, this isn't the only reason why he's a bounty hunter. Leo is also tasked with bringing Falka to Skellen.
The Witcher Season 4 star Sharlto Copley's thoughts on his character
Well-known South African actor Sharlto Copley, who has been a part of films like District 9, Chappie, Elysium, and The A-Team will now be seen as a bounty hunter in The Witcher Season 4 on Netflix. And as previously mentioned, he teased that Leo isn't your typical bounty hunter.
He's trying to bring Falka to Skellen while also enjoying the thrill of killing his targets. In simple words, Leo is going to be a merciless tracker, which will likely result in conflicts with key figures like Ciri.
According to the book series, Leo is one of the main antagonists in the Witcher saga. In Baptism of Fire, Bonhart is introduced through a roundabout way (as he is hired by Stephan Skellen, the Nilfgaardian coroner, to hunt down the Rats.
They are a squad of thieves/rogues, with whom Ciri had been living for a short while. The task was grim: to kill them and bring back their heads. This would put him into conflict with Ciri.
Since The Witcher Season 4 also follows events from In The Tower of the Swallow, fans can expect Bornhart to become more active in Ciri's storyline. He tracked down the Rats and killed almost all of them.
This further explains how ruthless Leo is, and as Copley already teased, he's someone who enjoys every kill. The series will also highlight events of The Lady of the Lake, in which Leo returns and remains a looming threat to Ciri.
Ciri isn't the same anymore. The show’s creator, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, also explained that this version is "rock‘n’roll Ciri" as she has lost her powers and is now relying on her confidence and street-smart attitude to stay alive.
The Witcher Season 4 is arriving on October 30, 2025, only on Netflix.
