Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in less than two weeks, and one character will be heavily missed in the final season: Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn. At the end of Season 4, Eddie Munson was attacked and killed by demobats in the Upside Down when he was trying to create a diversion so that his friends could go to the Creek House and destroy Vecna. Eddie's dynamic with other characters like Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve (Joe Keery), and others will be missed as well.

While Eddie or his dynamic with other characters will not be seen in Season 5, Shawn Levy, executive producer and director of the show, has shared a bts clip of Joseph Quinn and Joe Keery from Stranger Things Season 4, reminding fans of a memorable season.

Making a show like Stranger Things is no easy feat. A lot of important decisions need to be made to create a show that wins hearts for almost a decade. Shawn Levy insisted on that very essence of the creative process as he posted a bts clip of Joseph Quinn and Joe Keery from Season 4 on X with the caption,

Thousands of small decisions along the way…

In the video, both actors are dressed as their characters: Quinn in the classic Hellfire Club t-shirt, and Keery sporting the famous Steve Harrington hairstyle and a polo and jacket combination. The conversation in the clip isn't completely understandable, since multiple people are speaking at the same time. From what we can tell, it seems that some of the cast and crew were discussing how to go about a certain scene of Season 4.

The post also seems like a simple throwback post, but it might lead to speculations about a possible return of Eddie Munson in Season 5. The Duffer Brothers have confirmed in a conversation with Empire that Eddie Munson isn't returning in Stranger Things Season 5. Referencing the character, they said,

"No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.”

However, speculations don't stop despite official confirmations, and Levy's post might make some fans hopeful for a Joseph Quinn return. Irrespective of how fans react to this BTS clip, the video is a nostalgic one, reminding fans of a season that revealed and entertained a lot. It also makes one look forward to Stranger Things Season 5, which will feature the final battle of Vecna and the crew at Hawkins.

The show began with Will's kidnapping, and Vecna will use him again for one final time to achieve his ultimate goal. Each episode of the upcoming season is almost more than an hour long, with the finale being the longest. The finale episode, The Rightside Up, will be released in selected theaters in the United States and Canada from 5 pm, December 31, 2025, to January 1st, 2026.

It will be released on Netflix at the same time on New Year's Eve and will be available for streaming as usual.

Stranger Things Season 5 will premiere with Volume 1 on November 26, 2025. Volumes 2 and 3 will be released on Christmas and New Year's Eve, respectively.
