Next Gen NYC aired its sixth episode on Tuesday, July 8, on Bravo, titled 'Boardwalk of Shame.' The episode centered on the group’s trip to the Jersey Shore for Brooks’ birthday, but drama followed closely behind. While the cast prepared for the celebrations, real-life tensions began to rise, especially after Kim Zolciak’s visit.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and mother of cast member Ariana caused a stir when Ariana opened up about her parents' financial involvement in her earnings. In a conversation with Kim, Hudson made his stance clear:

“She’s plenty capable of making her own money,” he said, expressing frustration at the situation.

Kim’s finances spark reactions from the group on Next Gen NYC

Early in the Next Gen NYC episode, Ariana revealed to her friends:

“My dad told me and my sister, ‘You have no money.’ I was doing all these brand deals. I thought I was coming up in my life. But in reality I guess I wasn’t,” she said.

Ariana added that she was helping her mother, Kim Zolciak, keep up with bills. Later, when Kim visited Ariana, she entered jokingly by saying “Grandma? F*** off!” after Ariana chirped to her dogs that “Grandma’s here!”

The two then went to dinner with Hudson and Riley. During the meal, Ariana recounted the $14,000 bill Charlie left the group with at The Box. Kim was stunned.

“Oh, that’s a surprise! $14,000 bill, and he disappeared. Shocker!” she said.

Hudson, frustrated with the situation and Charlie’s absence, noted that Charlie hadn’t been seen since.

Ariana mentioned that Charlie had told Riley he liked her, suggesting she was his real target, not Hudson. This added tension to the already complicated relationships in the Next Gen NYC group.

What else happened in the Next Gen NYC episode

In addition to the drama surrounding Kim and Charlie, the Next Gen NYC episode 6 tracked various developments in the group. At the start, the group discussed Charlie skipping out on the massive dinner bill, and Georgia was particularly upset that he insulted her for returning his speakers a week late, calling her “dirt poor.” Georgia said,

“The ridiculousness of someone using ‘you are poor’ as an argument when they get literally every single dollar from their parents.”

Hudson added that Charlie had “slithered in and slithered out” once the bill arrived at The Box. Plans were made to confront him during the second night of the trip.

Charlie’s girlfriend, Ava, informed him she wouldn’t be able to attend the Jersey Shore trip due to work. This upset Charlie, who admitted he wanted her there because he lacked allies. He even brought up having kids with her during a discussion about their future.

During their drive to the Shore, Charlie and Brooks spoke about the group tension. Charlie claimed Riley had told him and Dylan not to pay. Meanwhile, Riley recounted to her friends that her mom was shocked they had to cover Charlie’s drinks.

After Georgia made a snide remark about Emira eating mozzarella sticks—saying “Ew” and joking that “The Ozempic is wearing off”—Emira pushed back forcefully. She called the comment “classless and tacky,” and asserted her confidence by saying she felt good in her body and didn’t need unsolicited advice.

Emira then sarcastically asked if Georgia was a doctor, dismissing the criticism entirely. Later, during Brooks’ birthday dinner at the casino, Emira and Georgia changed their plans and confronted Charlie early. Georgia said,

“He’s gonna be defensive, half apologize, and then probably come back in because he’s too stubborn to leave.”

Charlie offered an apology, but Georgia rejected it and returned to the table, frustrated that others were still being polite to him. As a distraction from the tension, Chloe called over a magician to perform. Meanwhile, Brooks shared his dream of launching a line of casino-inspired athleisure wear in caviar tones.
