What happened in Shine on Me episode 18: A quick recap

Episode 18 of Shine on Me begins with Lin Yusen arriving near Xiguang's place at Changbai Mountain and accepting that he wants to spend the holidays with her. He arrived late at night and Xiguang's cousin got curious about him.

Since it was late and she didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea, she pranked her family and introduced Lin Yusen as their new ski coach. He plays along and acts as a ski coach until Lin Yusen's family finds him having dinner with Xiguang's family.

Notably, Zhuang Xu and his colleagues were also at the mountain for team-building activities, and he became jealous to see Xiguang enjoying winter with Lin Yusen. Later, Xiguang's mother reveals how she met Lin Yusen's mother at a gala and their family dynamics.

While her uncle looked a little confused about Xiguang's boss, Lin Yusen's mother was impressed to see Xiguang. She even told her son not to let her go and keep her happy. By the end of the episode, Yusen's mother gets emotional while thinking of his late father.

She reveals that he died too early and that, too, when he was far from home. Lin Yusen also tears up, but he consoles his mother and suggests not to feel sad.
