What did Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes say?
Rhimes and Cooper discussed several things in the hour and half long interview in which is a must for every fan of the ABC medical soap opera. Shonda Rhimes also touched upon the impact of the long-running medical drama on her life. Rhimes recalled a humorous memory of her daughter think that her mother worked in a hospital. Her exact words were:
"I became a mom at the same time that Grey's Anatomy came out. And that was like, as a working mother, that was the hardest, most devastating, most amazing situation to be in the middle of. My daughter grew up thinking I worked in a hospital. She did, because that's where she was all the time. "
Then, she went on to talk about how she had her two other children:
"And so then, like ten years on, I thought, okay, so I've had one daughter and 37 actors, but she doesn't have any siblings."
But the highlight of the interview was when she touched upon the behind-the-scenes facts about Grey’s Anatomy, which has been on ABC for twenty years as of today.

While many characters met their end in the twenty year old series, one death stands out in the viiewers' minds. Turns out the Rhimes also agrees with fans as George O'Malley (T.R. Knight)'s death was a turning point in the history of this entire series. While his passing was officially confirmed in the season 6 premiere, he was hit by a bus in the season 5 finale, which aired on May 14, 2009:
"T.R. was so amazing because he didn't need to lay on that table. But he was like, 'I'm gonna do the role, even though you're never gonna see my face'... He was wonderful. I mean, it broke me, so I knew that the audience would respond to it, but I really loved it."
While Knight stayed off the ABC drama for atleast a decade, his character returned as a part of Meredith Grey's dream in the seventeenth season.
