Should we be worried about Daredevil's MCU future, as Daredevil: Born Again didn't make it to Nielsen’s Top 10 list?

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 finished its nine-episode run on April 15, 2025. The first season of Born Again was ultimately appreciated by fans when it premiered in March 2025, which is why they were already looking forward to season 2 as the finale was released. However, not everything might be as smooth as we believe it to be.

This week, it was revealed that none of the nine episodes of Born Again Season 1 made it to the top 10 of Nielsen’s streaming charts. This has fans worried about Matt Murdock's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by British actor Charlie Cox. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 releases in March 2026, and the stakes will be high.

Will Season 3 be a possibility, or will the plug be pulled? Right now, it is all speculation.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 did not make it to Nielsen’s streaming charts

A May 29, 2025, report published in ComicBook.com revealed that the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 received approximately 7.5 million views five days after its premiere on March 4, 2025. Now, it is worth noting that many people believe that Born Again Season 2 would've been part of the first season, which was initially ordered to be an eighteen-episode run.

However, Marvel pulled the plug on that version of Daredevil: Born Again and opted for a creative overhaul of the series. Therefore, it is possible that the upcoming second season might push the series to perform better than it did this year. Considering the cliffhanger ending, viewers might consider binge-watching all 17 episodes of Born Again together.

Should we be worried about Daredevil: Born Again?

To be honest, there is no immediate reason to be worried about Born Again as there is no official update. It is worth noting that despite the supposed underperformance, viewers who saw the show were mostly appreciative and expressed excitement about how the second season of the series would play out, considering that the season 1 finale ended with Mayor Fisk emerging victorious.

Also adding to the series' excitement is the return of Jessica Jones in Born Again Season 2, which was officially confirmed at the Disney upfront presentation on May 13, 2025. Her return has fans theorizing that Luke Cage and Danny Rand might return, meaning the upcoming season might be a secret Defenders reunion. These factors should help in pulling in more viewers.

These factors might ensure that we continue getting more of Charlie Cox's Daredevil, even if Marvel decides to cancel The Man Without Fear's solo series.
