Slow Horses Season 5 Episode 2 recap: Lamb saves Roddy

In the previous episode of Slow Horses Season 5, Tara, Roddy's new girlfriend, shared intel about Roddy with her team. In Episode 2, Shirley, who had been following Roddy the whole night, stood outside, at the end of the street, on lookout.

Although she was not alone, as Roddy later discovered that Jackson Lamb was in his apartment, to protect him if he got attacked. While Roddy dismisses any of the suspicions, Shirley was proven right when a man entered Roddy's house to attack.

However, he is saved by Lamb, as the duo pushes him toward the balcony. It is revealed that Roddy's attacker is none other than the sniper who killed Rob Trew, the Abbotsfield mass shooter. However, this attack turns fatal for him as Shirley severely injures the man as he tries to escape.

Slow Horses Season 5 Episode 2 recap: Diana meets Peter Judd

In Episode 2 of Slow Horses Season 5, Peter Judd, a former politician, comes to visit Diana at her home. Judd tells her about his new PR job with a private weapons company. He shares with her that a month ago, during a weapons fair, some of his company's weapons were stolen, including the assault rifle with which Rob Trew attacked in Abbotsfield.

While he is ready to share information about it with her, he wants to keep his company's name from being outed to the public, to save the company's reputation. Diana agrees to it but tells him that they will still be investigated by MI5, and Judd later shares the complete list of weapons that have been stolen from the company.

Slow Horses Season 5 Episode 2 recap: Roddy gets arrested

Roddy's situation is quickly linked to his girlfriend in Episode 2 of Slow Horses Season 5. While he thinks his being in a relationship is not suspicious at all, Lamb sends River and Coe to go to Tara's house, and they find that the address that she shared with Roddy was a fake one, which suggests that Tara might be involved with the terrorist group.

Furthermore, Flyte and the other Dogs learn about the attack on Roddy and also discover that the ballistic evidence found in Roddy's apartment matches the Abbotsfield attack. Later, Diana, accompanied by several MI5 agents, comes to Slough House to arrest Roddy, which Lamb had known would happen.

She also detains all of Slough House agents for not informing the HQ of Roddy's attack, keeping them locked in.

Furthermore, the current Director General of MI5, Claude Whelan, is approached by an investigative journalist, Carl. He was hired by Dodie Gimball, journalist and wife of mayoral candidate Dennis Gimball. After talking to him for a while, Whelan learns that Carl knows too much information about him that could jeopardize his personal life and perhaps more. Dodie tasks Carl with getting a hold of Whelan's personal phone number.

At the end of Episode 2 of Slow Horses Season 5, more of the terrorist group is revealed. It is shown that their cause might bring more mayhem to the city as they approach a group of climate activists and give them some type of chemical to be mixed with the petrol, which results in blown-up vehicles in London.
