He then worked as a costume assistant for Netflix for over nine months in 2019. What happened in Slow Horses Season 5 Episode 1?
Created by Will Smith and based on Mick Herron's novel series, Slow Horses follows an overlooked MI5 unit, Slough House. It is led by Jackson Lamb and consists of service outcasts who investigate some of the most notorious cases of Britain. After a gripping Season 4, Episode 1 of Slow Horses, Season 5 opens with a mass shooting in the London streets in broad daylight. A man in a hoodie takes out a massive gun from his bag and shoots a bunch of innocent people, including a man campaigning for the mayor. Surprisingly, the shooter gets shot by a sniper from a nearby building and drives away in a white van.
The incident immediately rattles everyone, including Slough House. Shirley senses a larger threat, and Catherine backs her up.
Emma Flyte investigates the crime scene, noting political motives. In the next few scenes, we learn about the true identity of the gunman. It was a 28-year-old man, Rob Trew, who was a part of an online group for disaffected men called 'The Unseen'.
Meanwhile, personal drama brews at Slough House. River struggles with family issues, and Louisa contemplates leaving for a break, leaving the team short-handed. The episode ends with Roddy Ho unknowingly stepping into danger as the woman he left the nightclub with sends a suspicious text to someone stating that he is heading to his apartment alone.
Slow Horses Season 5 Episode 2 "Incommunicado" releases next Wednesday on Apple TV+.
