Smiling Friends Season 3: Release details and plot

The new season of the animated series, Smiling Friends Season 3, will be released on Sunday, October 5, 2025. The animated series revolves around the employees of a charity company, who are dedicated to spreading happiness around them. However, they often encounter mishaps while carrying out their mission.

Smiling Friends Season 3 will further see the employees of the charitable company trying to spread happiness while also dealing with the hiccups that they encounter in their quest. As per Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming season will bring back Mr. Frog and also hint at a face-off with an ancient witch.

While talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Cusack teased about a Christmas episode being included in Season 3, and also shared that the upcoming season will focus on a specific character. He said:

"[Season 3] focuses on a character that needs more attention, so that will be a fun one."

He also shared that, like the previous seasons, where they experimented with different art styles and animation mediums, this season will also have a sequence where a character experiments and explores the medium of animation. He quipped:

"It’s fun to play with new formats, new mediums of animation, so we’ve done that a few times. The first episode [of season three] has a fun character that plays with the medium a lot. That’s got a guest voice of someone we really like, too."
