Nobody Wants This star Timothy Simons explains his character's relationship with Morgan in Season 2.
Sasha is portrayed to be part of the Roklov family social and religious circle, and his dynamic with Morgan becomes a notable subplot. Morgan is also the co-host of the podcast with her younger sister, Joanne. In season 1, she observes Joanne's relationship with Noah, and by season 2, she decides to take a step towards how she wants her relationship to be.
As the actor points out that in season 1, Sasha and Morgan's relationship is somewhat ambiguous, with them sharing texts and friendly contact, implying attraction. According to a report by Digital Spy, Timothy clarified that they won't be involved romantically in season 2, but their bond is something we can't simply look away from.
“I would say that it’s not particularly funny to break up a family, so I think if there was hope, they would probably dash that,” said Simon.
Further, in the CBS Mornings interview, he highlighted how this complex portrayal of any relationship is what the show is good at, as this has been the case in many of the contemporary relationships that have also made the viewers feel connected to the show.
"Whether or not I think it is appropriate or not, what is underneath is the conversation that is happening a lot in modern relationships or adult relationships now, and I think it's almost like a conversation that brings up the audience in one. Maybe that's why the people connected with the show. Because that's one of the things that the show does well."
Erin Foster, the showrunner, while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, has indicated they will “wrap up their weird ‘Is it romantic?’ thing” and shift focus to other story arcs for Season 2 of Nobody Wants This.
“We’re going to wrap up their weird ‘Is it romantic?’ thing. Because we want to see them together in Season 2, hanging out.”
Foster also expressed her interest in digging into Sasha's wife's character in the coming season.
