Spartacus: House of Ashur marks STARZ's first major return to the Spartacus universe after 15 years.
The official teaser for the show was released on July 27, 2025, and it is set to premiere on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Spartacus: House of Ashur will drop its first 2 episodes back-to-back for the viewers to binge-watch and introduce the foundation and characters of the show all at once. All the episodes will drop on the STARZ app and on all the platforms that offer STARZ access on demand.
The show reimagines Ashur surviving the Roman power politics and explores the darker side, suggesting the possibility of the Romans rewarding his treachery.

New details revealed ahead of Spartacus: House of Ashur STARZ Premiere
As mentioned, the show recently announced in a press release the premiere date of the most-awaited show. Along with the release date, the makers also dropped new images featuring characters in action-packed avatars.
The synopsis for the upcoming show reads:
“What if Ashur had lived - and the Romans rewarded his treachery with the gladiator school where he once bled?”
This "what-if" suggests that the show will be a reimagining of what might have happened if Ashur survived the Roman power and was rewarded for his treachery.

The cast of Spartacus: House of Ashur includes Nick E. Tarabay returning to his iconic role as Ashur and now reborn as the master of his old gladiator school. Along with him is Graham McTavish, known from The Witcher and Outlander, who is playing Korris, the seasoned Doctor who trains Ashur’s gladiators. Tenika Davis stars as Achillia, the first-ever female gladiator, challenging the stereotypes of a male-dominated arena. Then comes Jordi Webber portraying Tarchon, a warrior known for his charisma and who eventually rises through the ranks of the ludus.
The cast of Spartacus: House of Ashur also includes some additional recurring characters teased in earlier reports. This includes Ivana Baquero as Messia, Claudia Black as Cossutia, Jackson Gallagher as Caesar, and Leigh Gill as Satyrus.
