"Spectacular": America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel praises Gendai's laser dance performance

The latest America's Got Talent Season 20 Episode 6 featured more auditions on the show. One of the performers from the episode was Gendai. The Japanese artists' unique laser dance performance surely caught everyone's attention.

While the audience enjoyed and cheered for Gendai, the judges also applauded him. He performed a unique dance with laser lights. Seeing how he danced on the beats and the sync, everyone was left speechless.

Gendai's performance received a loud round of applause from the audience and a multiple-judge standing ovation. However, one of the judges, Mel B, didn't understand his performance. That was the result that Gendai received three yeses from the rest of the judges.

America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel's review for Gendai's performance was:

"It looks like a video effect. I would imagine people who are watching at home they don't understand how amazing that is. That was spectacular."

As the performance ended, Howie Mandel, Sophia Vergara, and Simon Cowell gave a standing ovation. Howie said he "loved" the performance. Show host, Terry Crew, said the performance was "incredible." Seeing everyone's reaction and how the audience cheered for him, Gendai responded:

"Great energy."

Listening to him, Howie joked that he loved that Gendai was "judging" them all. Next was Mel B, who said she was "a little bit" confused. As she said that, the audience booed the judge. But, she said, to hold on and to listen to what she had to share.

"There was a lot going on. It was still brilliant, but it confused me, that's all I'm saying."

America's Got Talent judge Sophia said she wasn't confused, but was in a "shock." She said she was "excited" for his performance because that was unique and they hadn't seen it. She said the act had the potential to take him "anywhere."

Simon said the act was incredible and it was "unexpected." He said it was "so good" and "so cool" that he loved it. Soon, the judges voted, where Howie said yes, while Mel said she was waiting just for a "minute."

Sophia said yes, while Mel B said she didn't quite understand it, but it was "amazing." However, her decision was a no. She added that she "genuinely" didn't understand it.

Listening to Mel B., Simon shared his opinion:

"I do understand it. It's been one of the craziest days in a good way, we've had for a long time. However, I love this hat. I'm going to say yes. Thank you."

Gendai received three yeses. While leaving, Mel B said she would bet that "some people" would agree with her decision. Backstage, when Terry asked how Gendai felt, he said it was his dream to come there.
